I heard somewhere that is the safest one, and you will rarely see reds with that. What was your experience with it ?

Also congrats, very well done !

Still not advisable to do a crime that takes away a % of CE when your nerve is at it's highest... You don't have to be a genius to figure out that losing a % of something higher is bad....

Still best to do drugs merits before the others... Their 60 would be a hell of a lot stronger and come a lot sooner if so.

There you go Nash, they did it because they only focused on drug crimes... rather than rebuilding more CE to lose...

Failing a crime takes a percentage away, so it makes most sense just to stick with the failing crime, rather than build more CE which will inevitably be lost... which Stealth did...
Alexstrasza [1825532]

Yes, but he did them all once he was well past 60 nnb, after all other crime types. That's still 9000 he managed to do at 60nnb.

Of course his 60nnb was very strong initially, but 200 reds, and still managed to retain 60!? That's absurd, actually. Maybe the CE loss from jailing on the transport drugs crime is exceptionally low... Or a static amount instead of a % amount. Which... could make sense I guess, since a lot of people report retaining their 30/35/40/45 nnb while doing transport drugs.

well at least i know i can do this now at least and it's not a long lost merit anymore.

r+ congrats.

If it helps to make any sense, I have 8000 busts from the old system (10 energy per bust), which according to forum posts of that time, used to give very good crime exp. Before starting drug crimes, I'd be listed 1st/2nd in the green Political Assassinations OCs.

I can still participate in successful PAs, but as a 3rd/4th member now.
bogie [148747] Admin Staff

I'm not saying it's not possible Nash, just simply as said from the start that it is the least sensible option from a CE perspective... Which it outright is...

8k pre respo busts and only as a 3rd or 4th speaks volumes there, I did my 10k drug crimes before everything else and I'm a 2nd or 1st in PAs
Alexstrasza [1825532]

I appreciate that, but what if what we know about drug crimes is wrong? And the loss of CE is actually minimal on Transport Cocaine? _Stealth_ might have just shown us this is actually the case.

If you knew that you could get caught 200 times at a 60 nnb + a few thousand safe crimes, and still retain 60, or at very worst, drop slightly to 55, would you change your opinion? Wouldn't it then be more beneficial to rush yourself to 60nnb so you can start the hardest OC's at ~1000 days?
ReyDuvall [1526820]

"Wouldn't it then be more beneficial to rush yourself to 60nnb so you can start the hardest OC's at ~1000 days?"

But 60 isn't the ultimate. Crimes 2.0 is coming out eventually.
60 is going to be a bit ho-hum when all of the people that didn't hurt their nervebar are past it.

So I would say it DEFINITELY isn't beneficial to hamstring your nervebar by taking away giant chunks of it after you've worked to build it up, and then to continue to work hard to stay afloat at a middle level.

All the CE from all those PA and safe crimes kept him from falling below 60, but that is CE that could have moved him to (invisible) 70.
Hell, if he was a #1 he was already invisible 70, but the drug crimes knocked him back down.
Maybe he'd be at invisible 75 or invisible 80 if he hadn't gone for the merits, if he'd played it completely safe.

But damn, It's very impressive that he was able to finish them at a 60nnb, that's for sure.
He has merits that I will never have.
Kudos and congrats to OP. R+!

But should newplayers sabotage their nervebar by PLANNING to do them in that order? Hell no.
Alexstrasza [1825532]

You're also missing the point. Drug crime jailings might not ruin your CE as we've all been led to believe. 200 jailings should have dropped him down from 60nnb even if he was on '90' nnb.

Maybe the loss of CE is linear with this crime, meaning you could complete the drug crime merits at ANY time and the overall net effect on your nnb is the same.
bogie [148747] Admin Staff

Maybe, but unlikely as by doing drug crimes exclusively you don't gain net CE, those without the enormous CE buffer that OP had will see a loss on nerve just exclusively doing drugs. But why would you risk it when given the choice?
ReyDuvall [1526820]

"Drug crime jailings might not ruin your CE as we've all been led to believe"

But it clearly did ruin his CE.

He went from Elite CE to ho-hum CE (no offense OP)
While taking in a huge amount of CE from PAs.
He lost a massive massive HUGE amount of CE.
He net-lost more CE than the huge majority of the players will ever even have.

It is safe to say that the drug crimes f**ked his CE up.

I do not agree with advise telling newbies to PLAN that.
mug [553318] Committee Committee

ah this dude was a buster? pretty much a mystery then, no way to tell how much he really hurt it or didn't hurt it because buster's CE is just so ridiculously OP.

ched mentioned nerve bars will be much bigger 120+ busters will shoot up to whatever the cap is as there nerve bars are ridiculously strong if it's still his plan to raise it even more. It's possible the OP went from '200' down to '195' which might be 3 years to get back. Luckily though crimes 2.0 is probably 5 years away so he's got time to build it back up.

ReyDuvall [1526820]

Like you said, it was ridiculously OP'd busting CE.
I'd say that it can't be regained before 2.0

No matter how long that is from now.
Because even PA CE seems to pale in comparison to busting CE.
ReyDuvall [1526820]

"How do you know? Did you run PA teams with him?"

Mate I read the thread, he said in the thread that he went from PA leader to 3rd/4th.

I don't have to run PA teams with him to know he lost an utterly massive amount of CE.

The difference between "leading a PA team" CE and "barely making a PA team" CE is huge, and I feel like that information is well known, and doesn't need defending.
