Seriously just harden the f**k up , such a thread full of whinning bs
I'm absolutely aware of what's going on and i've told you that I would find it humorous if we messed with Duke so much that he went and did something dramatic to us. You're trying to make a useless argument being hypothetical about other extremes Duke could go to. As other people have stated, players in the past have bountied an owner's employees as a form of punishment. JFK even did that as a faction against someone that's now in MnC. Why does that concern you so much? The point is, don't mess with Duke or he'll mess with you double, that is specifically what he said in this thread. He's teaching BodyBagger a lesson right now, maybe he won't mess with Duke again. BB is a grown ass man and can handle it, not like he's going to quit the game like some other crybaby suggested might happen.
JFA's faction matters are handled by the leadership and not available for everyone to view on a public forum.
To answer your personalized faction drama related question, I'd probably fight with JFA because I enjoy a challenging fight. I'd rather the opposing team be better than my own as that's the best way to get better in a competitive game. I'd learn more fighting against JFK than vice versa. Always loved a good fight even if I get destroyed. I'll always be with JFK when I need to be.
Only problem here is that Duke isn't a player, he's an NPC. He doesn't use his own hard-earned cash to bounty BB's company, he makes money appear by magic and can pay overprice for getting the job done. The person controlling Duke doesn't even have to worry about payback since he's able to hide behind and NPC.
The easiest way to prevent BB from mugging Duke is to make sure Duke doesn't have any money on hand, make whoever's controlling him donate it all to the church every time there's some cash on hand or get rid of it some other way.
And I don't believe for a second that once BB stops mugging him, Duke will lay low, I'm sure he'll find some other way to make himself relevant. And I wouldn't mind an NPC making things interesting if it was unbiased and he picked random sides, but obviously he won't be.
If it's true that he's basically giving certain factions contacts to keep BB's company hosped (and paying much more than normal bounties to get it done), he's actively choosing favorites and skews the balance of the to factions (most likely after his own sympathies).
If Ched set duke on BB as he was bothered about the money being mugged from duke, wouldn't the simpler answer just be to code it so that you only got $0 from mugging him?
as for BB mugging 2 bill this month, BB uses all of his e on mugs if SA aren't warring, he doesn't just mug duke and a lot of his big mugs come from other sources, there are a lot of virtually untouchable players in torn who feel safe carrying hundreds on millions on them, BB is the one player who can beat them, that's where his mug money comes from
No, because then the opportunity doesn't exist for everyone else if they choose to take the risk, maybe doing it once in a while as not to provoke Duke. Why would ched cater the game around BB?
But it's all good if Ched caters the game around JFA (assuming the stuff about partnering is correct) or some other specially selected faction? I did notice that whoever wrote the thing BB copied said "Duke's enemies" in plural, I assume that means that once BB has been dealt with, someone new might be in line.
You mean like the opportunity to earn 10 mill per attack by hitting his employees only seems available to select factions, how is that right?
I would be interested in hearing from Ched on this, the more this develops, the more it seems that the person controlling duke has another agenda
You can't have it both ways though. If you want to make Duke more life like, then grow him a brain so he doesn't keep all his cash on his person, like any normal person figures out in about 5 mins.
How is Duke punishing BB for routine attacks catering to JFA? Even if what you said is true, then it would only be catering if the opportunity wasn't offered to others for different future targets in Duke's enemy list. I happen to be on his list btw, as I stated previously. What's happening is not much more than Duke reacting to BB's routine attacks. Duke sends out random presents to people for unrelated reasons. I assume that money comes from loan payments made to Duke. It wouldn't surprise me if he was giving out money so that when other people in the game mug him, there'll be less money on hand for them to rob.
@Critch Perhaps SA could have had such an opportunity if BB wasn't in it. SA used to mug Duke as a faction and use the money towards a DB fund. You guys have already had your share. I know you're good at complaining about the game but for everyone's sake please stop.

Statements like that might offend Duke now that he's a life like NPC. With the amount of concern that you have about being on his bad side, shouldn't you be more careful with your language? Duke is admittedly not the sharpest tool in shed, he'll tell you that himself. If he doesn't remember how to store his money in a safe place, and instead wants to operate on a revenge basis, that is his perogative as a life-like NPC.
Are the 'random' presents from Duke really random though? I would argue that they're more of a reward for being someone that entertains whoever's controlling Duke, which instantly brings in some bias.
Is the opportunity to get a partnership with Duke offered to ALL factions? I haven't heard easy mentioning an offer from Duke, and I'm sure he would have mentioned it if we got an offer. If it's only offered to a few factions, and the faction that ultimately gets the job is decided by whoever's controlling Duke, it'll clearly be based on his bias and sympathies, and cater to that faction.
And if he's giving out money solely to make sure he has less money on hand when BB mugs him, he's one dumb son of a bitch, if that's his objective, he can donate it all to the church or bet it on sure losses with the bookie (and rebet his winnings if that fails for some reason). Or just change the code to make the money from loan payments go into a black hole somewhere).
No idea, you'd think I would be receiving some presents considering I take out Duke's highest stat targets for dirt cheap labor (half the mission credits as everyone else). But instead, i'm on his shit list because of my networth and he mugs me on a routine basis.
No idea who was offered what. You should try chatting with Duke though, he says some pretty hilarious things from what I've heard from other people.. Maybe you could make friends with him. I should take my own advice, maybe he'd stop mugging me. Probably not though.
Duke does what he wants with his money.
I really hope that Ched releases more NPCs with various other behaviors. Maybe some that are more gentle on you sensitive minded gamers.
Well, can you think of anyone else that Duke has absolutely no way of getting at? You mug him. He can't mug you. If Sif was active and doing the same thing, you can bet he'd be copping it too. There's literally no one else at that level. So you have established yourself in an NPC-like position within the game, yes.
Personally I think bounties would be more effective, but as has been published in the forums before, they're trying to give Duke a more interesting narrative and him challenging your invincibility is an interesting one.
I never said you 'deserved' anything, mate. Infer what you like, though.
Edit: I do think just bounties on your employees would work, too.
I'm good at speaking out when I feel something isn't right, you might call that complaining, I call it having an opinion.
as for posting a pic of my down rates to your posts, there are many that I have uprated in this thread, the fact that your posts in this thread are so narrow minded and that you refused to answer cynics direct question about JFAs arrangement with duke earned you those down rates, at the same time, on the occasions you post something sensible you will get an update, I know for a fact if given you quite a few in the past, that is the point of the forum scoring is it not?
i would say it's quite clear in this thread that all but JFA seem to agree that an npc should remain non playable, I would argue that the fact JFA are all for this duke abuse points towards the fact you are indeed being paid by duke to hosp BBs staff
I've seen some of his 'hilarious' things, personally I think it's pretty hit or miss with him, and lately it has been more miss than hit, and I don't plan on kissing his ass to get a 'random' present. And I have no interest in making friends with him.
The thing about Duke's money is that it's money that someone who didn't earn it gets to spend, and for all I know it's with no oversight at all, making it very easy for him (the guy controlling him, not the NPC) to reward his friends and punish his enemies.
I don't mind the concept of NPCs having a role in the game, but they shouldn't be controlled by someone who either has or will get biases.
And you're wrong about it being about me and probably most others that you disagree with being 'sensitive minded', I hate the way TC has become more and more catered to pussies over the years, and I would welcome a chaotic carnage, but it should be without an inherent agenda.
if duke was to bounty his employees it would at least take away this conspiracy theory that your faction is being paid by duke to take out BBs staff as everyone in the game would have an equal chance to earn the bounties, it's really not good for the game that any faction be paid by an npc
i see what you mean about BB almost being an npc himself, he is near unbeatable but he is an actual player, I can't see it being good for the game that an npc suddenly targeting real players like this, yes it adds a new dimension but all this talk if taking contracts out in his staff doesn't sit right with me and the majority of torn seems to agree, sets a dangerous precedent
And there it is, the go to JFA card when you want to detract from a sensible post, the great 'butt hurt' or 'crying' allegation, please, come up with some new material.
and btw, I'm not the one who reported you, it seems someone else agrees that your post is pathetic
What exactly does SA mugging duke have to do with BB having his employees targeted now? Sounds to me like your the one who is jealous that you didn't do it when it was worthwhile!
for the record, yes, SA mugged billions from duke and the money went towards building a DB, however that stopped months ago as it was no longer worth the e, then the expert duke mission came out and now it's definitely not worth the e
all your post does is redefine what I said earlier in that they should and could code it so that you don't get any money from mugging duke, something you were quick to say isn't fair as it takes others chances of mugging him away, now your crying about SA mugging duke, dude, your contradicting yourself!
forgot to add, how much did JFA make from duke mugging back then, we weren't the only faction mugging him, mnc and JFA were also, you conveniently opted to miss that little fact out!
You're so concerned about JFA's involvement in the topic, why is why I've mentioned SA's also. I've made many posts in the past hour thoroughly explaining my views on the topic and how this 100% revolves around said revenge from the routine attacks BB has made. You can read them if you choose, I know you've disliked them all, not sure if you've actually read them in their entirety or not. I thought you're all for revenge, right? Your form is to dislike all of my posts to get back at me instead of replying to and discussing the actual content within. So what's wrong with Duke getting revenge on BB by attacking his employees, since there is no other way for him? Other players have done the same in the past, as I stated previously.
How is stating facts that SA has mugged Duke a ton in the past = crying, lol? I've never complained about that, you'd probably consider "stating opinions" on it in the forums though if you knew it was happening. I've mugged duke for profit a few times, definitely not a contradiction but nice try. I could see how a fun house mirror perception on things could view it that way. It was at best neutral EV because I didn't have BodyBagger in the attack making it really easy.
Considering that everything I post in your opinion is crying, even when I post facts makes it quite comical that your now criticising me for accusing you of crying! I read all of your posts like I read all others in this thread, I've rated some up and some down based on my opinion of the post, that's what it's there for, I don't downrate for revenge like you claim, I just felt that your loss so far have been heavily biased and designed to swear us away from the allegations that JFA have a contract with duke to take out BBs employees
im not going to argue with you in this thread any longer as it is taking away from the actual topic, is it right than a NPC is seemingly now a PC and targeting individuals
