There's a "torn feed" app in the Google store it sounds good says it doesn't need your log in information all it needs is your API key is this safe?

As the app required only you API key it could be considered legit, however, please remember that there may be data collection going on in the background that you're not aware of. The Google/Android permissions seem to be fine, but all the data collected from the API may be getting shared with, well, anyone... The developer doesn't share any sort of privacy policy.
Yeah I uninstalled it after one day and it didn't alert me for anything
