lel I love it how people bitch at Collete, calling her a childish highschool kid and whatsoever. For your information, yes I do know her here on Torn and she is actually a nice and reasonable person. She will treat and respond to you, and any other person for that matter, with the attitude you come to her. So instead of bitching here, please do buy a mirror and get some self reflection.

Having been repeatedly bountied by Collete for no apparent reason, I can tell you that OP has a good point. Why does she get enjoyment from giving newbies a hard time? Only a pathetic, angry kid would find that fun.

Simple. Dont be a dick (op, calling someone miserable and childish because you made a mistake they chastised you about is miserable and childish) and you wont get bent over by people who dont like bullshitters. Coming from experience, be quiet and dont ask for a shovel to dig yourself deeper. If youre a masochist (like me) then keep going buddy. Youve already made collete pissed so youre about halfway there already ;)

difficult to get bountys these days, i cried when krakfreak bountied me 2000 days ago. i have to pay people to place bountys on me now....sobz

I've played other games over the years where their own Bounty system is similar. In my experience those who troll, beg or whine generate the most attention for Bounty posters. I have no doubt this applies here too.

Being polite and respectful to other members never hurts. And we all make mistakes at one point or another, so admitting where you went wrong and trying to put it right generally helps.

You put bounties on my head. I asked why. You put more bounties on my head. You're not a very reasonable person. Oh, and being a high level in an online game doesn't make you intimidating or scary, in case you're under that misconception.

As a neutral observer not sure how he was picking a fight with you? He admit he is a noob and ask a noob question in the forum. You not only chose to click on the thread, but you also responded to it in a sarcastic put down way. Seems you went out of your way to be kind of arrogant because of your age and power in the game. thats not really cool

Then you quickly escalated the fight and bountied him......seems to a neutral party this is exactly what you were looking for to entertain yourself.....but sorry in 2016 bullies are not cool

I made a thread about this when I first noticed this. Just some guy and a bet they made about how many bounties they could place in a certain timeframe.

see, here's the thing. i have been a victim of collette's bounties before. i am not going to go into details because its way in the past and i don't care, but she made a comment on a forum post and i responded and boom bounties! i didn't cry about it, i didn't run to the forums, i let it go. why? because i am an adult and got over it. magically, there were no more bounties!

players need to realize that if you react, especially if you throw a temper tantrum, it will only lead to more bounties. there are certainly some bountiers that will keep going as long as they get a reaction. i never got that feeling from collette, but if you act like an asshat, she will keep it up. the fact of the matter is that older, frankly better players deserve respect and if you mouth off to them, they will make you pay. if you harass a dog and it bites you, do you keep messing with it? no, you realize your mistake and move on. younger players sometimes need to learn to pick their battles. you shouldn't get mouthy with someone you know you wont win against.

moral of the story: don't be a prick and if you do, don't cry like a child afterwards

i understand that this is not empirically true, but i have lived by that during my time in torn and have escaped mass bountying. its all about common sense. this is a long term game. there is a hierarchy here and respect is owed. if you think you can join torn and immediately become a bad ass without earning it, you are in for a rude awakening.
