Perhaps Diva was accessing those accounts that were to use items for #hamster drawings. Weren't all the items lotto'ed off during those drawings taken from fedded and suspended accounts? I miss those lottos...
Although a little ironic that Diva was one who banned me from an irc channel yet does shady stuff like this...
I personally think player accounts (especially new staff) should be limited in what they have access to.
Ched needs to stop promoting players to roles where they can access personal information via notes, mails etc.
Torn is a business, and as much as I appreciate that many members of staff work voluntarily, it's time Ched started to invest in external staff other than devs that don't have anything to gain in-game, and an employment contract binding them. It's a shame that our game has come to this.
Insider knowledge is one thing, but accessing account information is a total abuse of power. Any staff who are even remotely suspicious should be stripped of their status and never reinstated.
This isn't about being nice and giving the benefit of the doubt to incompetent staff, this is about safeguarding your community Ched.
The majority of our current staff are good and have been staff for a long time. I know the ones I can trust. But at the same time, there's some I wouldn't trust them enough to tell them what i've bought my GF for Christmas.
Yes, and that point still stands, a staff member according to Marc was involved in a serious breach on not one but fourteen times yet the punishment was just to be de staffed, Midknight broke a rule (something extremely tedious) the punishment could have been to be thrown off the committee and fedded for 30 days yet he was deleted, this to me is still double standards
Marc is so convinced that this staff member broke rules that he created a thread about it, he is no longer admin and has tarnished the players reputation regardless of her guilt/innocence, he states that he never revealed the players name but that just clarifies that his real agenda is to damage torn, if the players name was never revealed then fingers would have been pointed left right and centre and all hell would have broken loose

what I would say is that since I started posted about it in this thread, I have had several current staffers like my posts (Ched himself being one of them) and a couple open chat with me agreeing with what I'm saying

You had, however, stated that this was about Marc and not midnight, I showed that you brought Midknight into the conversation with your very first post.
IMO the MK fiasco is its own discussion and shouldn't have any place in this one. If the MK thing needs more talk, then it that thread that needs resurrected.

This thread (please read my initial post, thanks) is about making someone staff again after serious levels of incompetence. Ched on page 3 himself has specified that he doesn't know if what happened was intentional or not, and neither do I. The only one that knows that is Diva. She was destaffed because people not knowing how to do the job isn't ideal to have on a team of people who do know how to do the job. She was given plenty of opportunity to retrain and still failed from there. If it was intentional and we could prove it (e..g, admission to the fact or mails/chats to say so), then she would have been fedded. This is very distinctly different to the situation you're so infuriated about.
Thread was created to see how people feel about a staff member being reinstated after being removed for negligence at minimum.
Along with what players believe should be a vetting requirement to become staff
I'm not sure you've read whole thing, it's devolved somewhat into a banter about unrelated mid night and ppl who have it out for staff.
Marc has in essence brought up that fact that a current recently hired staff has had previous issues while being staff and that there'sno other issues with current staff that he's aware of. which I agree with completly. I've only dealt with a couple directly about a bug or random question. but seeing them at work in global and forums i think they do a geeat job at keeping torn at least half civilized.
But my belief is I'm against reinstatement of this staff based on what I've read. i know this is my own opinion and sdont expect it to change anything. it's cheds game his rule is law like with "duke-gate" "midnight" gate and w.e else the cool kids can come up with
The point being that staff seem to be happier under the new regime than the old one, there was clearly a disagreement between game admins and owner on the direction the game was going
ched wanted to implement change and this was being resisted by the old regime, the owner has taken control of his game back, Marc clearly doesn't like or agree with decisions that Ched is making and is now seemingly trying to stir the pot
we didn't see this happening in the forums when Ched did not agree with his admins in the past, seems to be only one disgruntled side here and that's the one who created the thread
ive said it earlier, if Ched had locked/deleted this thread or forum banned Marc I would be wondering what he is trying to hide but he hasn't done that, he has instead instructed his staff to let this ride, this is the torn we wanted with an open discussion, I'm all for it

Marc destaffed Diva for giving away account info for 14 different accounts. Possibly due to complete incompetence, so was destaffed as no more serious offence could be proven. Marc steps down. Ched & co restaff her. Marc opens discussion about this, and the general checks that should be required of potential staff accounts.
Lots of people drag conversation off-topic, currently mainly critch with a few throwbacks to Midknight.

what I have said is that I believe you have created this thread solely to create problems, you've posted allegations with no proof, Ched has responded with clarification that an investigation was completed and he has now restored said staffer to her role, he has however left the thread open so that people can discuss
you are the one imo who is looking silly, said it several times already, disgruntled former employee!
