i am against according to human trends

1. the average person's understanding of their body and relationship with it is not optimal. our health is in our hands, but we are not educated for the purposes of taking responsibility for it. Our ignorance to the toxins on offer for us to consume and utilize within our environments, that transform the health of our bodies and shape reality the exact way certain people benefit from it being shaped, will be perpetuated.

If someone's body is made of expensive materials and circuitry that they have no responsibility for understanding and maintaining themselves, they could be inviting any kind of technology into their body, and any kind of authority to take control over it. There is a serious question of what it means for our autonomy; if a humans body is 50% robotic, who owns it? There is no intention of liberating humanity through technology. Check the trends.

i don't follow apple but were not the original iphones technically just rented devices? noone who had an iphone actually OWNED it, they paid for a contract to use it, but it still belonged to apple.

There are also many reasons why. And lots of those reasons are the same as what pashmael had said lol. For instance, people don't know enough about their body and don't take care of it; if every cell in your body was constantly being monitored by nano bots that sent the information to a centralized super computer for processing then diseases and illnesses (not to mention injury, drug abuse, and even depression) could all be diagnosed and treated without the patient ever even leaving the crack house. After the technology was out of it's infancy I'd expect to see greatly enhanced memory and comunications, like a freaking global telepathic network. Plus abilities such as dream recording/sharing/enhancing and downloadable skill sets. Not too mention just the cool things like your preferred atmospheric conditions and music following you through buildings and stuff. Common man you're seriously telling me you dont want a car that read your mind and doesnt need physical controls? Or designer pets like living teddy bears and shit?! F right off lol.

Oh yeah, and let's not forget what's probably the ultimate goal; to build computers capable of housing the human consciousness so we can leave these meat sacks and never have to die...

I agree with this completely. Both sides.

But i do believe as we progress in the years we will understand. And we will be familiar with those things and understand how to avoid them, eventually.

Damn, Craig Venter has an awesome quote for this in his book Life at the Speed of Light (good if a bit dry) but I can't for the life of me remember it. Something like science is moving too fast so its a time when the public has never been so ignorant of our current level of scientific progress, and it being super important people are informed.

Any such invasive interaction capable of causing me convenience,and pleasure can just as easily be used to cause me difficulty and pain. I'd rather not only do without but might seek to join the Amish in their struggle instead.

I propose that a Christian of high wealth and stature wishes to use this gap between scientific progress and broad-based scientific knowledge (amongst his followers) to enact a scenario which could be proclaimed "Revelation". The chaos and carnage would be immense. The stage is also set for the Crusades to resume. It is a precarious position we are in.

Until such time as man can be cured of his habit of wanting to control his fellow man, the world is becoming exponentially more dangerous as technology progresses, but not more evolved socially. I am seeing instead a massive rise in discord. Humanity are known for wanting to take advantage of one another for their own personal gain. I expect more of the same in our lifetimes, only on a much grander scale.
