Or you know, get Ched to make the thing a teensy bit bigger...with the faction territory war system in place, it could actually make it harder with faction symbols in the way...just saying.

DoctorN is quite clearly against the rules.

"... no software is allowed to automatically make requests to Torn on your behalf, unless it's using our API." DoctorN does that with its casino features.

The worst abusers will stop immediately. The ones that followed them, however, who understand scripts less, will be cannon fodder. Shame on their leaders for leading them off a cliff.

Inbe4 the excuses.

I reckon it's best for all leaders (or co's) to compile a list of the most popular scripts and run them by a staffer to check whether they're legal or not... and send it out in a newsletter.

Was the first thing I did when I saw the announcement.. []

Interesting that illegal scripts will be given 1 more week of being allowed, even though they are illegal.

One last hoorah or a bait to see who makes the list?

but by the sounds of it ALL scripts are given [diplomatic] immunity, granted you'd have to be silly to use these scripts after being told you're being watched/tracked. But there are some people who think they're untouchable and bigger than Torn, and the quote of "no punishment for 1 more week" makes it so they could script as hard as they want for this week, and some people won't mind their name being flung in the face of Ched/staff. Especially if they know they're already on that list.

A lot of the scripts weren't exactly illegal until today. The window is to get everyone in compliance. Obviously there are the exceptions, but a week won't change their decision of whether to use it or not. Plus, perhaps we're already recording things even over the duration of this week. Is your account worth the risk?

I think the week is pretty fair for developers of such apps/scripts to take heed of this new official rule but any one who uses the now illegal features (before being removed) would have to be out of their mind
