so was looking at the app store and found a torn app that looks real well made called torn 2.0. im 99% sure its a scam to get passwords. was wondering why cant ched take it down or even sue as he has the trademark. or is it legit?

Does it need your login info?

I use one from the Playstore which gives you push notifications. All it needs is your API Key. Never asks for any login info etc.

preferences > api key. it just pulls stats from your account. doesn't give anyone any actual access. though they can see personal things like cash on hand.

and to answer your initial questions, yes he can go through the process to have it taken down, no suing over such a small thing wouldn't be worth anyone's time, and wouldn't it be easier to just advise people against using the apps instead of putting forth the necessary effort to fight them?

Wasn't obvious to me.. Things like DoctorN use API key, which works like City Watch, and gives you notifications of any events etc.

But yeah - never use your login details. I created an app a few years ago that you needed to input info into - it was released on an alternative app store as I'm too tight to pay Google 25 quid but the info was stored locally. Last time I looked - its had quite a few downloads but is going to be very out of date now lol
