Those companies are the ones that get deleted a few months in because they end up paying more in wages than they can sustain.

The short answer: mugs. If you get paid a ton of have a high networth you will be a target. I think it's a design choice.
In game it doesnt matter if people know or not.
In real life this transparency and equality is unrealistic and just some wild socialist dream.
If it doesn't matter, then why hide it?

Socialist dream. Lmao. If hoping for a day when people get paid the same money, for doing the same job, to the same standard and for the same amount of time is a dream then I hope I fall asleep soon.
By the way this dream is already a reality in Sweden. Many companies in the Uk are heading this way too, with pay bands for each role. I assume the same is true in the US.
Because we can compare, and if we don't think its enough,we can move? And also brings pressure to keep up efficiency.
How can you define some standard? Its impossible, peoples standards are always different.
Unless you are using robots expect differences in standards of different people.
Even pay bands do not create equality. People can be doing the same job on different bands simply because of who they know and are friends with etc.
But this is all a different discussion.
Ingame as i said there is no benefit to keeping wages a secret. Most people really do not care about the wages as its minor source of income ingame.
Ched has addressed this suggestion before, believe he responded to Bogie (cba to find the quote) and said he could add a confidential area that only directors would see and that would block a few things (such as wage) from other employees. That was a couple years ago, guess it fell off his list.

I agree..too much data is public and visible to employees including advertisement , funds etc.

Simple, Pay them all the same :)
Wages being public info encourages healthy competition between companies. If you don't want someone from a rival company poaching your best employees you need to step up and incentivise your people to stay.
And it makes things a lot easier when searching for a target to mug...
Mugging for a % of someones daily wage is just silly imo, unless you get paid 10 mil or more a day, then please share the name of that company to me :p
