What, that was directed at me? Are you saying that everyone should have a higher standard? The standard is the average, a "higher standard" is above average, you understand that, right? The community will always, by definition, be average...
Everyone can't have a higher standard than average... The average person can get drunk beyond reason, post nudes all over of themselves, while people in charge (political/religious/companies) should have a "higher standard". Generally people with any vote that holds any meaning at all should hold themselves to a higher standard. I've been leading teams at work, factions and whatnot in various types of games, youth club (IRL) - so I know when to hold myself to a higher standard. Being part of a community, culture or sub-culture does not require a "higher standard". Being part of any type of leadership, "voice of the group" and whatnot does.
The joke went over your head and I'm not going to acknowledge it in this response, instead I want you to know what you've tried to explain here is slightly wrong
If Joe has 5 dollars, Wendy has 10, David has 15, Mark has 20, and Christy has 25, the average in that group is 15 dollars.
If they each receive 5 dollars more, the average becomes 20, higher than the previous average.
If they each spend 5 dollars, the average becomes 10, lower than the previous average.
The average isn't necessarily the standard either, such as the standards to join a faction.
