This is just for facts that knowing it would likely pose no benefit to anything whatsoever aside from calling the world weird and screaming "What the **** world?" to the top of your lungs.

Here's the first: Cyclosa ginnaga is a species of spider that uses webs to look like bird poop. Another species of spider, Celaenia excavata, has a natural look of a dollop of feces.

Can we post random facts as well? If so: the average person spends 6 months of their life sitting at red lights.

Of course, everyone has to right to put something out there that doesn't help anyone but fills them with intrigue!

Did you know that a sloth might die and have a death grip which will keep it on the last tree which it died on? Think of that when you think it's "sleeping".

Did you know that the US actually considered using "bat bombs" instead of nuclear bombs to win WW2 against Japan? The reason the bat bombs weren't used was because they proved to be way too effective as the average home at the time was highly flammable.

For those further interested, the bat bombs were made up of a frozen bat and a bomb strapped onto them, loaded into a egg carton with a small parachute. When they went through the air they thawed out and seeked out the nearest place to rest, detonating after a certain amount of time. Because you can't predict animals, this actually resulted in a field test gone wrong were the bats had enough time to go into public barns and homes, burning some to the ground. It was after this incident they concluded the bat bombs would cause more harm then two nukes.

The first link leads me to G-mail...and I said random facts which would serve little to no purpose or use dammit! This can easily be pulled out from the top of ones head to used to convince people of ones own beliefs! I can't turn a democrat into a republican with knowledge on dead sloths or bat bombs, but if that link actually worked and I knew what it was I could use that to change someone's party orientation or personal opinion on issues.

Also, random fact: some ice-cream has a gelatin in it made from animal skin, hooves, and bones. Think about that the next time you're walking in the dairy section.

The first wide spread computer virus went by the name "Elk Cloner" and was only intended as a prank. It acted like a game at first, but every 50th time it was loaded it displayed a poem as follows:

This was also the first instance of malware, causing computers to get noisy when you inserted a infected floppy disk into it. Because there wasn't really any instances of this until that day, no punishment was dealt as computer viruses were still new, and this in of itself was a first.
