is discord available in standalone client? i used discord in browser for mauk's party but it was painfully slow.

@lane - it should be fine, ignore the staff member who made the comments to talk with other staff about it - I doubt it was done to get at you but an honest mistake from the staff member not knowing what discord was and assuming you were promoting an offsite link that you own.

To play devil's advocate: it depends what you've called or advertise your server as. I've personally never heard of yours as I don't use discord, but if you're trying to call it a 'Torn community', you can't.

The IRC server is hosted by Karty but Ched and staff have full power there. It is channeled through Torn's domain, is sanctioned by Ched, Ched has his own team of ircops to administer the server, and Ched has full control over the server. Therefore it's safe to call it official.

You are not staff, nor Chedburn. So if you're trying to make an 'official' Torn discord, it's likely going to be a no-go. You can't have it look like it's something ran by or sanctioned by Torn because it isn't.

A new person looking for an 'official torn discord' and coming across yours, they could mistaken it for something actually official or sanctioned by Torn which is not the case. Ched has no master control over it.

If you called it "Lane's Discord" and set up your own network/rooms then that's different. There's no grey area and it can't be mistaken by people as something Torn-official. These sort of discords have been posted around many times without issue.

I agree with you PMV and I have never once claimed it or advertised it as an Official Torn Server.

It may also depend on where you mention it. If you post it in General Discussion, it may be fine. If you post it in Trade Chat, they may tell you that you aren't buying or selling or trading and to not to post about it there.

i think global monitoring is very random it all depends on how well the staff who is monitoring global knows you you will receive a formal warning in mail for repeating the name of a person 4 times. The staff must be having lots of staff work but that staff will troll players with warnings
