break downs aside, OP and a couple people do raise serious points, IE: farm wars are total shit and it does suck that we drive away a lot of people from the game.
You call farms total shit, but we have received 100K respect for each of our last two farms and respect is the currency for factions these days. Chaining 2.0 will allow a faction to chain indefinitely without being at war with another faction. For a faction like JFB this is great news, because limiting our warbase to 500 limits our ability to chain effectively. For factions that hide from being filled by filling their warbase with 500 members this isn't good news, because they can become targets without being declared on.
Interesting enough with chaining 2.0 factions chains have the potential to impact other faction's ability to participate in territory wars or even competitive wars.
Yes we have done our fair share of farming in 39th too, and I feel dirty for partaking. Someone mentioned multi faction wars elsewhere and I think that would be a great idea. I look forward to chaining 2.0 because nothing is as bad and outdated as our current system, but I still think a lot of noobs(the future of the game) will get ****ed over one way or another.
not sure if I agree. admittedly I'm a noob on the subject, but when it comes to this game, if you can't take being bountied, and being in the hospital several times a day, stay out of factions, forums, global, etc. There are a lot of players who have no issue playing this game unfettered for years pursuing other vectors of interest.
If you are going to join a faction, expect to be attacked. You don't join the military and expect to be a domestic REMF for your whole stint.
I've been playing less than a year and I've got this shit figured out:
*It's gonna happen. Period.
*Meds are cheap. Stock them. Use them.
*Travel. You can't be hosp'd if you're not 'on the ground'; regular hosp'ing is very rare abroad and muggings are short hospital stints.
*Use the forums for shits and giggles, not to shit while others giggle.
My faction is one of the unadvised young ones, we have some small pockets of frustration who can't get their heads around the above - but mostly it's just COMMON SENSE. Understandably it does get a little wearing to log in time after time and see 'hospital' - but then review the points above and woosah it away ...
It's necessary for chaining against more valuable targets to have "filler" to fill in the hits in the chain between bonus hits at 10, 25, 50, 75, and 100.
Most factions have been used as filler at some point. This has been normal gameplay in Torn for years now, and it's not because we're picking on you, or because we're cowards. The only factions that don't get used as filler are probably top 10 in the game. Even JFB and others like us still get used as filler in others' wars fairly regularly. For younger factions, it's almost guaranteed to be constant.
You should be thankful that the entire state of chaining is going to be changed dramatically very soon. It's been stated already that with Chaining 2.0, *all* hits will count toward the chain counter. Other than for ranked wars, there will no longer be a need to target a specific faction or factions, and there will no longer be any need to declare war on your faction for "filler".
You should consider yourself fortunate to have a faction at such an interesting time, and maybe stop complaining. If anything, it's an indication of your success that you're being used as a filler target, since more members usually means better filler.
