So question about these upgrades are they pointless like I've seen some say or do they now save mods in a crash? Couldn't find a definitive answer. If it does save is it worth the investment at lower levels or should you just try to plow through (wish you could race class you want and points scale)

Edit: the consensus is that safety shortens hospital time if you crash, that is it.
I would not spend racing points on it, they're much harder to get than med kits or blood bags.
Ok thanks!
I would not worry about getting the safety upgrades until you get to class A. That is what I did.
I've been A class a long time. I have full safety upgrades on one car. I have several other cars, and haven't bothered with safety upgrades on any of them. I also have a big pile of points I haven't used, so I could easily add the safety upgrades - I just don't see any point in them.
The safety upgrades reduce hospital time in the event that you crash. They do not lower your possibility of a crash: that's what handling and braking do.
They don't reduce the amount of parts you lose, but they can keep you from losing your more expensive upgrades. Let's say I crash and have 5 safety upgrades and 5 engine upgrades. The parts you lose are chosen randomly, so if I'm losing a safety part, that means I'm not losing an engine part.
