Performance differences between App servers

Extremely happy with this. I think that the majority of the population aren't even aware of this, and upgrading these servers will impact everyone who plays Torn on a regular basis in an extremely positive way.

I honestly don't know why the experience of your users is not of absolute paramount importance to you, in the light of you making more and more performance degrading updates (such as the 'live' profile pages), but it should be. People who are unlucky enough to not land on app2 or 3 are CONSTANTLY complaining about horrible response times on pages. Attacks are not fast and fluid. Doing basic things like using items, going to train, busting in the jail, and loading forum pages are just painstaking and slow.

How much work is involved in 'upgrading' php? Honestly? Is this seriously a month-long (2 months? 3?) thing? Can you hire a contractor to perform this work quickly for you? Can any one of us 'plebs' provide any assistance? I don't mean to bump this thread inadvertently, but I really don't understand how you can have fresh fast servers waiting in the wings while you implement changes that are basically unnecessary whilst everyone suffers a terrible performance experience.

If you are also planning on Elimination to be in September as well, I really urge you to consider putting these server upgrades straight to the top of the priority queue. The increased activity and server load will cripple app5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10.

Please, paint me the full picture. What's so hard about upgrading php versions? Why does loading a server take so long? Do you use docker containers? VMware virtual machines? Please enlighten us on why this is taking so long.

come one man, prioritize this shit; it's taking me 5-10 seconds to load a page on app10; how would you expect me to take part in elimination, chain, bust or try to make a trade in these conditions?

dont expect upgrades on server to give us balance anytime soon is the impression im getting.

Lucky for me I have a way to ALWAYS connect to app 2 or app 3, sorry for other players lol

I honestly wouldn't be suprised if the admins are always connected to the good servers as well when they want to sit down and enjoy a nice gaming experience that is Torn (without lag of course xD)...

Can 1 computer geek with a paying job get off his ass and learn how to upgrade a server or use a phone and credit card to pay another geek to do it in one month?

Developers have their own server.

I also don't know of any of them that play the game (at least on developer accounts).

May I congratulate you and the other devs on birthing your beautiful baby servers, vysdel2.

You can probably close this bug report now. It's bloody amazing not having to worry about which silly web server you land on when logging in.
