I think the point that's confusing you is that it was supposed to even the playing field. Why would you assume that? It was a huge disadvantage last year as their team was too small to win in the end, the contest was won by the male only team...
It was done to add an extra roleplay element to the competition and spice it up a bit, which you're doing quite well. Pink power isn't given to every female player.
It isn't a new hidden mechanic that was exclusively revealed by committee members so I still really struggle to see the link, it's just a case of people wanting to be mad at them because they're the easy group to hate on.
No problem there, because we only had like 5 pages of active ppl most were unless multies. When the MM pool is so huge and mostly useless players. Also males will have far more options, so it would not be so guaranteed that a majority would be on one team.
Where if you stack all active people with all the resources onto one team joining where it's about guaranteed a spot, yeah it's a bit different.
They wouldn't have the chance to because not all men get offered MM. That's the whole point.
There are far fewer female players and therefore a much better chance of getting your team together (and apparently it's 100%, which no one knew before, fair game).
Again, I'm going to call it a day. I got sucked back into this by people calling me dumb, which is admittedly a dumb thing to allow to happen. Fingers crossed no one calls me poophead or I'll come raging back in again.
well this was a few minutes of reading a bunch of whining.
even some of us real females didn't get pink power as an option. so those trying to change gender for it must have been given special randomized choices than the rest of us didn't! sheesh. its still randomized....
and gotta say, i wholeheartedly disagree with this breaking any rules or bypassing any what-nots. in a role-playing game, people are allowed to roleplay as females. period. (but not that kind of period.. i mean, err. nvm)
I get that but Pirates got a strong team despite the random element of team choices. They did not manipulate the way teams are presented to enable them to get a strong team - clearly bypassing what everyone understood the intended mechanics of the comp to be. Thats the only point anyone has an issue with, so if you're not going to address that, why comment in a thread about it?
Its only "excruciating simple" if you knew that all females would be presented the PP team option this year - unlike last year. But if it's excruciatingly simple to have thought of, are you saying this way of guaranteeing getting the PP option in your 4 teams to choose from was deliberate?
So the point everyone has an issue with is non existent? As not all females are getting the PP option from what I heard so far (as I stated in my previous comment btw, which you completely ignored).
Taking a gamble to change your gender to female and see if there's perhaps an increased chance at getting a certain team I wouldn't classify as abuse, or an exploit. And even if it was "an exploit", PP's only achievement so far is a massive target on their backs, I doubt they'll end fourth like last year.
Again, you're sitting there implying my post implied something while I stated the exact opposite.
Don't be daft. The intended mechanic is that you choose from one of four random teams. Changing your gender because that means one particular team is guaranteed to appear in your choices, enabling you to join a team with your friends in a way that is unavailable to people who didn't know that change had been made, is bending the rules.
Please do enlighten me on how using knowledge that is not freely available, to manipulate the team choices you get, is not unfair. Don't dare say that "everyone know PP is only for girls" because while true that is totally irrelevant. This year, being female guarantees you get PP as an option. Clearly some people either knew this, or guessed it. Either way it has provided them with an unfair advantage in the comp. if they guessed, and were part of a group of people who are designed to ensure the game is fair, they failed at that task.
My understanding is that all females have the PP option in team selection this year. if it's just "perhaps an increased chance" it seems to have been a gamble with extremely good odds based on the amount of brand new females claiming to be part of PP in the forums.
Not reading all this, but imo it doesn't matter. All comes down to the last 30 seconds anyways, and I'm sure pp will now be targeted right from the start.
again, not saying it was a bad thing, but not understanding why this ploy is having the kitchen sink full of excusses thrown at it. it makes it feel dishonest when all these weird excuses are made.
if not all females got PP, then how did jfa/mnc trannies all end up in PP? were any of them unsuccessful? if it is indeed random, which I don't think is true, it's certainly not as random as the others, though I haven't personally heard of a female who didn't have PP as an option, other than you saying that they exist.
