I have been using this new security system for a while now, without any problems, until this morning. When logging into Torn this morning, using my antique Vista desktop, my login screen froze after I entered my password. I couldn't click on anything on the Torn page, so after a few minutes, I clicked the "refresh screen button. The screen changed to the security screen asking me to enter the code sent to me in a text. I retrieved my phone from the charger and turned it on, but there was no text. I walked out side to my deck and waved my phone around like an idiot trying to get a better signal, although it showed I had two bars, which is normal for home reception. I came back and clicked on the "Try another option" button. I answered the security question and was told to check my e-mail. I got the code from my e-mail and entered it and was logged in.
But what happened to the text that is usually sent? is that a blip? or is it floating around out there some where? Maybe you should consider giving everyone who uses the two step a Hotline 800 number to call just in case they get locked out of their account. That was some scary moments there.
Was attempting to update my security settings as per the instructions in my events when I logged on today and suddenly am being locked out [of the security settings panel]. Please help!
Try another browser.
If that doesn't work, use the link in the post above you.
Issue I've been having with the verification.
I log onto Torn from 2 devices. My home computer and my mobile phone when not at home. But every time I switch between the two I am required to put in the text sent code. But the issue I'm having is the page itself takes long to load. I get the code and I sit a good 2 -3 minutes after waiting for the page to load so i can even enter the code.
I have no other loading issues anywhere else on Torn just the page to input the security code.
Side question: Is having to put the security code in every time i switch between two consistent devices planned? Or should it only be happening with new devices that I've never logged into from before? Its getting quite irritating putting a code in 4 - 5 times a day for the same devices and having to wait 2 - 3 minutes each time for that code page to load.
The Security Settings panel requires secret question answer instead of password if one is set. Thanks.
Is this still an issue?
the security part yes its still an issue, is there some way to reset the secret question? and the 2 step at the moment tho is behaving
Yes, you can use Account Recovery to reset your security settings - https://www.torn.com/account_recovery.php
We have fixed an issue with encoding so it should work fine after you reset it. Thanks.
