I have been playing Torn with my in game spouse for almost 9 years. We have built, collected, and acquired everything we both have together. We are both older players and the thoughts of one of us passing has crossed my mind a number of times. If something were to happen to me, I would WANT everything I own, properties, items, money, and stocks to go to him since we have together acquired these things. The game now, I'm assuming, is that if someone passes, the person goes inactive and all of their "holdings" just sit there. Some of us older players have a few rare items that I would hate to see just sit in a case that nobody can get to.
Would there be any way of setting up a will of sorts so that if a spouse did pass and there was proof of that, all of the deceased parties belongings would be given or transferred to someone they designate, either a spouse, or a friend in the game, etc? Is this just a dumb idea, an impossible thing to do, or is there a protocol for this already that I'm just not aware of?

If nothing like that gets implemented in the game you could put your login details to torn in an rl will.
It would take some time to transfer everything but with access to your password a rl family member or lawyer could make sure that it happens.
Terrible idea...it'll open the floodgates to multis transferring items of value/wealth back to the original account.
This is against Torn's rules - Account Sharing: Game Ban.
I asked once if we could leave our accounts if we die but bogie or some other know-it-all said all accounts belong to Ched. We lease them, if you like.
I'm not sure about this idea. Be aware of the implications. You leave your account to your irl spouse, kid, friend, cousin, uncle whatever. They do the same, next person repeats and you get god like Dynasties growing over the years. Like Torn Rockefellers or Rothschilds.
Wonder if a "Dear Staff" letter on your profile would work. Something like if I am offline for over 100 days, please give my stuff to __________.
I'm sure to some like Sweeney Todd up there this may seem like a silly question. I have no children, I have only my mother left in my immediate family. 9 years of my life and time have been invested in this game with my game spouse. Buying each other gifts with money we earned together. It just seems like such a waste to pass away and it all get taken out of my account by ched or staff or whoever so they can sell it and make themselves more powerful instead of it going to someone who actually helped acquire it. As for my RL stuff, those things are already set, it doesn't make sense to pay my attorney a few thousand dollars to add in a paragraph about a game. Just figured it would be something easier to do on the game.
However, that said, I can see what others have said about multi players. I actually never thought of that because I have never thought about using multiple accounts to get ahead in this game. I can see where that would be a problem.
I just threw the idea out there cuz I know everyone see's and views things differently and the feedback on the possibility is very helpful.

The issue with multis can be overcome if a death certificate is required to prove death.
I don't think it's unreasonable tbh, a lot of places do that, and if a person values their game time, which they should after playing for almost 10 years, then why not?
