Well, it appears BackAlleyBob has closed the PRC for good. But... we can still have some fun! I will be opening the All Class Smash on November 30th. Same rules- the car that finishes squarely in the middle, wins. It will be a 100 lap race on a random track.
The prizes are:
1st: 10m+Dp
2nd- FHC
3rd- FHC
No entrance fee. Prizes. Any class car. Be there. I'll be giving out random prizes, just for showing up! Spread the word!

well, 70 racers. So there is no exact middle position then (that'd be 35.5) Unless Revis disqualifies herself, in that case winner would be 35 since she placed at 36.

The only thing I can now find of Bob's threads are about them being ancelled with the same copy/pasted message, so it was a bit less clear now because of that...
But yes, if in this case it rounds down (as the middle number is 35.5), then indeed 35 will be the winner, with 36 at 2 and 37 at 3.
That example with 17 racers isn't even right actually xD. 17 divided by 2 might be 8.5 and rounded down to 8, but thats the big trap with middle numbers. The middle number with 17 is 9, with 8 racers coming before 9, and another 8 coming after.
I had a bit of an ethical dilemma as to whether I should disqualify myself, but since there was no way I could have cheated or gotten an unfair advantage, I decided not to. With that said, thank you to everyone who participated. Enjoy the rest of the PRC!

Bob's middle does not include the first racer, it's just entrants divided by 2... consistent with the way Revis ran this one, so he was true to Bob's original race, well done Mr. Revis :)
Just means bob actually had it wrong in that all class smash, the winner should have been 32 there, not 31. Kinda surprised nobody actually noticed that.
See, if you have three racers, 1, 2, 3. Obviousely whomever ends 2 is right in the middle and should be the winner. But If you just divide 3 by 2 you get 1.5, rounded down for 1st place being the winner, which is clearly wrong. Basically, if you want to get the winning position through division, you either add the first and last number and divide that by 2 (4/2=2), rounding down if needed. Or, you just divide the total racers by 2 and round up, instead of down. (1.5>2)
Bob's method of dividing the total by 2 and rounding down simply was a flawed method of doing it. But that did not matter for this race; as with an even number of racers it would have ended up at 35 regardless.
