Faction Chain Records

So as the new chaining system is well underway now, I thought it would be a good opportunity to note down the key achievements so far - and hopefully the ones still to come! In addition, I've also tried to put together a list of the chaining records from the old system, so us old farts have something to reminisce over!

There are still quite a few gaps (particularly from the old system) where I haven't been able to source the information. If something looks incorrect or incomplete, please send me over a mail and I'll fix it.

Bonus chains should be differentiated from non-bonus for "fastest" chains. No one will waste their time trying to beat any fastest chains set by people who didn't hit their bonuses and lost a ton of potential respect. I think the real challenges are fastest chains while hitting the bonuses. I would be very interested to see how those go in the future.

I don't think it's needed particularly. Once you get up to the higher chains (10k+) there will be so long between bonus hits that no-one will risk missing out on that bonus respect.

The 10k+ chains by for example 39th were in the system before the previous system.

Thanks Harley - I did find it a few days ago which helped add a couple to the list of factions who achieved 2.5k chains. The only thing it misses are the chains which pre-date those records (e.g. HT, BAMF and 39th). I've managed to dig up the 39th long chain but I've drawn a blank on BAMF and HT so far!

It's the equivalent of someone saying they got the best hurdle time while sprinting around all the hurdles.

While I agree 10k+ hits wouldn't see this issue, we will see it for 500, 1,000 and 2,500, etc hits that lead up to the 10k bonus.

A suggest could be the fastest time to do a chain for x hits and highest respect gained during chain making x hits

seems like the best/fairest way to do it

If people can send me logs for chains of 1,000 or above where we can definitively say all bonuses were hit correctly, I will start ranking them into an order.

Ouch.

In my mind, when Chedburn was creating this new system, I don't think he intended people to be creating fake territory wars in order to increase bonus respect. I think the system we have now, where bonus hits require quite a lot of pre-planning to be taken in the most efficient fashion, was just an unintended consequence resulting from an oversight from the development team when designing this system.

Nice list, definitely interesting to see all in one place how well everyone else is doing in regards to respect and speed.

Hopefully this will push more factions into trying and beat the records.

One upside of this new system is that activity is all that is needed to manage to be the first or the fastest to complete a chain. For the most respect gained, the lvl of your targets matters, though hitting all the bonus hits correct is a lot more important though.

I am looking forward when some of the lesser known factions will beat the current records :)

i believe calc are still the highest, but im sure some of the other facs beat our first attempt respect wise. i think our second one is still the highest though as it had all bonuses on the new respect buff

It's interesting to see that less than 1 month into the new chaining system, 15 factions have completed 2,500 chains. Prior to the new chaining system, only 17 had ever completed a 2,500 chain! I guess adding a decent incentive and allowing all hits to count has helped, but it's good too see a lot more factions getting involved.
