Hey all,

I know that nerve is one of those 'useless' kinda stats that doesn't really contribute to much in the game, but if they change it one day to reward people with high nerve bars, you're going to be annoyed you didn't use the opportunity to maximize it.

What is CE?

Nerve bar is based on your Cr back-end CE is your natural nerve bar value. This is the amout the hidden levels of CE in the back end of Torn. It starts at 10 and caExperience (CE) in the game. Any crime you drime ay to 'view' youo, and anyone you bust, adds a static amount to your CE. This is a hidden stat, anonly wps out at 60.

CE affects your chance of success on anHence, you should only progress to harder crimes as your natural nerve bar rises (the only way to tell whereabouts your CE is at). You can also improve this sucnce of sy particular crime. The higher your CE, the better chance you have of performing a crime. You have to have a certbefore some crimes cess b able to be successful. If you attempt a crime too hard for your particular level of CE, you'll either fail it (blue result) or led (red result). uccehtly (2%). Thy mre are 17erits, and by the faction special enormity. Also, each crime has a crime enhancer item you can buy to improve the chawill bee crime enhancer items in total, as there are 17 types of crimes.

So what crimes should I do?

There are 2 paths to take with crimes. The first is achieving 60 natural nerve bar, to participate in Politicrime experience gain for merits, as some merits requou to do crimes that send you to jail, butWoman

Businessman you do not have to come baccompleteese merits later, when the cost is much greater.

the 5 nerve crime - 'Pickpoc
15-20 NNB: Performket Someone'

Kid

Old

Once you hit 20 NNB: Perform the 7 nerve crime - 'Thoroughey hit 20 N Robbery'.

Perform the 'Thorough Robbery' armed robbery crime. You may have to do this crime over 1000 times to move to 25 NNB. Some people report that they have trouble with this crime imtely after thNB, so if you do, just go back to mugging the businessman for 50-100 and then try again.

Once you hit 25 NNB: Perform the 9 nerve crime - 'Stealth Virus' (see first sentence though)

If you have no merits in crime successue doing the 7 nerve 'Thorough Robbery' for 200-300 more. You will need to get your CE up a little higher if you havo merits or specials in the faction to be successful with Stealth Virus.

Once you hit 30 NNB: Perform the 11 nerve crime - 'Warehouse Arson'

Hopefully you've got your drivers license now, so it's time to gccou will get hoet a gas can from the market (cheaper than spending points on it).

Warehouse really really high sucs rate, so you're able to start doing it as soon as you hit 30 NNB as long as you have some merits in Crime Scess and the Criminality Faction upgrades for crime suspitalized in sog like 1 in 30 attempts, so keep some morphine on you.

Once you hiArson has at 40 NNB:

Perform the 10 nerve crime - 'Mob Boss'

Perform thenerve cthe 11 nervrime - 'Kidnap the Mayor'
Perform e crime - 'Ware 15 house Arson'

SO, Once you hit 45 N
If, however, you'd like to stop pushing your CE and try to go for some merits, there are some you can achieve with zero risk. I have listed these below, with their relative success rates. They are:
d merit: Do the 11 nerve, WNB... how do you keep it safe?Onwards to 60nnb! With the recent changes to nerve bar, you should just continue doing the safe crimes that you were doing at 40nnb.

For the thefts merit: Do the l From Clothes Shop, Jacket crime. Jacket success percentaeople agree thage is 100%. If you ever steal a jacket and get a blue f to get jailed. Instead, jailure, please screenshot and let me know.

For the Murder merit: Do the 10 nerve, Assassinate a Mob Boss crime. Many pt 'Assassinate a Mob Boss' is the easiest to do. This crime does not hanceust like Arson, you'll only go to hospital if you fail. Assassination crime success is around 75%

For the fraua4 nerve, Shoplift, Stearese Arson crime. Pretty straightforward. No need to do any other fraud crimes. Arson crime success rate is about 95%, with 4% chance to get hospitalized, and 1% chance to fail.

Organized Crimes - I will mention OC's here at the end, too. They grally aren't big respect or money earners, but over time, they can provide a decent boost to a factions coffers and ct. A lot of the lower ones don't give much benefit. But they DO increase your crime experience on top of the normal nerve bar crimes, at no cost to the players, so I think it's importaicipate.

New Crime Experience Data in 2018:

This section will be for the number neo like this stuff.

So one of the more interesting projects I've been personally doing, once I hit 60 nnb, is deliberately dog Crimes, and getting jailed, and then cting how many 'safe'imes it takes to regain my 6 safe crime, so I could get a0 nnb after ng. This has been interesting to get a general understanding of which crimes give the most CE, and getting more accurate numbers in success rates, etc.
did Arson as the simultaneoequation of how many drug successes were equal to arson successes. Given that once I hit 60 nnwould succeed a certain number crimes before getting jailed, and then succeed a certain number of arsons to regain 60 nnb, I could work out the relatCE power of arson vs drug.

This gave me the calculation that 1 n success is roughly equal to 2 drug successes of CE.

It also helped me determine ompare how mathat 1 jailing from a drug crime causes around 150 arsons worth of CE loss at 60 nnb. This would be beneficial going forward, as all I weed to do is cny successes each of her safe crimes took to regain 60 nnb, and divide that by 150 to get the relative CE pow that crime compared to Arson.

So then I proceeded to go and test the followimes, and gathered their relative power as follows:

Stealing jackets: ~670 required to regain 60 nnb = 1/4x Arson CE
0 nnb = 3/2x Arson CE
Stealth virus: ~876 required to regain 60 nnb = 1/6 Arson CE
Steal a parked to regain 60 nnb = 7/3 Arson CE
ThorouberyKidnap the mayor: ~37 required to regain 60 nnb = 3.65x Arson CE
Assassinate the oss: ~105 required n 6: ~295 required to regain 60 nnb = 6.1/3 Arson CE.

I'm currently in the process of re-testing Kidnapping the Mayor, and will update this once I've successfully regained 60 nnb, but for the time being this lets uelative power analysis of each e, and its ability to incre CE. Again, bearing in mind this is not related to merits, as certain crimes gain more merits than others for less nerve cost, this is purely about which cribest at regaining, or building CE.

So if we take the lowest CE gainer, jacket th a base value of 1 'unit' (n) of CE, and then work out how many 'units' of CE you gain for each particular crime given, say, 1000 nerve, we can do the follog calculations:

UPDATE MAY 2018! - ORGANIZED CRIMES!

So for the last 6 months or so, I've been getting some help in testing the values of Organized Crimes, shoutout to CrazedOne (1915023) from Chain Reaction particularly for his help and up with soinvolvement.

During testing of re-gaining 60 nnb, ting amI and others have been seeing how many fewer Arsons are and comirequired when succeeding an OC in this period,ng me interesounts of 'CE' each OC are worth. And so, I present to you, a few of the ESTIMATED value of the particular OC's, in their arson value:

Taking over a Cruise Liner: ~73 arsons CE

Hijacking a Plane: ~144 arsons CE

Political Assassination: ~2000 arsons CE

Yes, that's right. I was lucky enough to be put into a successful Political Assassination a couple of weeks say, ago, and it took FOURTEEN drug failures to drop from 60 nnb after the success. C5 arsons worth of drug crimes and arsons that were successful at the same time, this gives me a rough estimate of aombined with the ~26round 2000 arsons worth. (Assuming each drug failure is approx. 150-160 arsons worth of CE at 60 nnb). Of course, this number is quite rough, but needless toastounding nonetheless.

The Cruise Liner and Hijacking OC's were tested multiple times, and whilst the values always are slightly different, the rough estimates are pretty close. I have only done the Political Asest once, so if you are an OC planner and you might be able to organize another PA with similar conditions to what I did, please let me know so we can get some more data and confirm the estimate.

I have officially stopped getting jailed at 60 nnb and regaining over and over. It's too time consuming and frustrating to constantly sit on this boundary, as well as excluding me from higher OC's. My numbers are 'clo mistakdoing tes are identified. Thanks for all the support and comments!

I think that we should all blame BraveKath for you removing your guides from the forums as she set it up so that it looked like you cheated when you really didn't

Nice add to the Mob vs Kidnap conversation.

I suppose you just need to see if anyone else can duplicate your results. I'm still at 50, so maybe someone wants to take one for the team.

Was each test run fairly consistent on how many jails it took to drop to 55? And how many jails were required to see a drop?
Harley [258120] Wiki Contributor

I like the bottom section you added, It's nice to see someone put it to the test and write down some numbers!

edit:

Oh almost forgot, I am tracking my progress from 55 towards 60, bit of a funky one but so far I have:

- 3600 stealth viruses

- 2487 busts (seems like these genuinely give **** all CE anymore, even despite being a static amount)

- roughly 100 self busts.

My numbers so far.

Nerve Bar

Arson

Drug Crimes

GTA

35-401,47010,0120
40-451,57400
45-501,59000
50-553,23100
55-601,849072
55-60 to be continued.

PS: Good to have it back.
Michi [1922819]

I didn't post my crimes in the old thread I think? But this guide did help me a out a good bit so thanks for bringing it back.

I've hunted merits a bit but this was my crime count when I hit 55:

Illegal products 1,180
Theft 10,205
Auto theft 1,501
Drug deals 21
Computer crimes 1,501
Murder 67
Fraud crimes 5,731
Other 5,010
Total 25,216

Times jailed:297
People busted:639
Failed busts:250

I'm going for 30k crimes so doing small crimes then it'll be the long road to 10k arsons so will try to remember to edit this when I'm at 60.

edit: I experimented with some self busting too

Thanks for reviving the guide. Hopefully Crimes 2.0 will come out in 2018 as Ched says.

Here's my snapshot, link in my sig basically has the rest of data(multiple messy tabs) I've collected, from both your old guide, and various forum posts. My data contains mainly only 35 NNB and up mainly due to preserve as much accuracy as possible since unfortunately newer players hardly record anything unless they are a restart/HoF faction.

Disclaimer: I'm not saying I'm 100% right, but I do want to inject some constructive criticism.

In your guide you're assuming crimes are a static non-random gain of CE (which they may be), but I'd like to know how many times you've actually dropped your 60 NNB and regained it doing the exact same crimes for science. My only guess is because you're back calculating success rates based on a 60/55 NNB and for some of the harder crimes the success rates will actually vary depending on a players NNB, perks, ect.

Stealing jackets: ~1350 required to regain 60 nnb = 1/9x Arson CE
Kidnap the mayor: ~50 required to regain 60 nnb = 3x Arson CE (my data shows 2x)
Assassinate the mob boss: ~225 required to regain 60 nnb = 2/3x Arson CE (my data strongly supports this)
Stealth virus: ~300 required to regain 60 nnb = 1/2 Arson CE (hanks data supports this)

If you've done more kidnaps than me in a succession, with the same NNB/variables and no PR OC fail I'd be fairly open to being wrong, but otherwise I don't see it Kidnaps being worth anywhere over 2x 1 Arson as you can see from my own data, and compared to all the other sources I've gotten which to be fair could be recorded wrong. There's also cases where people doing strictly arsons in my data don't have the exact same #, which you'd see if there was no variance in CE gain they are very close however so it could be due to some other non-recorded factor.

For 50 to 55 NNB I attempted nearly 3,000 Kidnap Mayors and over this amount of time my success rate was closer to 54.31 %, this was also the case for Scootaloo at 55 to 60 NNB who averaged 55% as well as he also had a sub 60 % success rate. (we both had max CE perks/merits) Just to point out also, Rino reports a average 50% success rate at 35 NNB for Kidnaps. Again suggesting that different success rates due to NNB, ect which make recommending crimes as the "best CE gain" open to question. From my estimate Kidnaps only really get to be on Par with Arsons at 60 NNB and unless someone shows me a higher than 60% success rate I don't expect it to be actually better sadly.

I still stand behind Warehouse Arsons being no.1 for CE gain up to 60 NNB. I have yet to prove this without a doubt however the data I have strongly suggests it from what I can see. This mixed with doing OC's harder than Planned Robberies. Rob Money trains, Cruise Liners, and Plane Hijacks in particular due to most recent OC reward changes by Ched to these crimes in particular. (There's 2 players who report faster progression seemingly only due to what OC's they've done namely: Cloudjumper, Scootaloo to a small extent) For my own experience although clouded with some OC fails, PR's seem to add next to nothing in terms of CE.

Let me know what you think.
