We've just released a few changes to weapons and armor.
- Armor mitigation reduced as mentioned in this thread. All armor is now on a new scaling system making it less essential while providing more variety / choice. The quality of your positive-rated armor in comparison to others remains the same.
- All damage in attacking has been reduced by 25% to compensate for the reduced armour values. This shouldn't upset balance, but other minor changes may be required.
- Unique values of weapons and armor were originally generated around a base value and could be lower or higher. This has now been changed to positive only. If you acquire a weapon or armour it will have at least the base value and can only be better (not worse). All values on weapons and armour which previously had 'less than base value' have been regenerated!
- Unique armor increases have been adjusted to 0 - 5, instead of 0 - 10% of base value. The quality of your items remain the same compared to others, unless your items were below base value - then they're now better.
- Ungenerated general item information (like in shops) now just show the minimum / base value of the item, rather than the full range.
- We're going to trial a 'Quality' rating on items which shows a percentage range of its potential. 0-25% will be common, with 75%+ being incredibly rare. This will make it quick and easy to see how an item's unique bonuses compares to it's maximum potential. You'll see this appear soon.
Thanks.
