I understand there are many ways to be scammed out of money, but how did they scam you out of a PI? you can rent those... for friends you can rent for free.

Well, a billion is a big deal, to me at least.. So I can understand your pain from this. But unfortunately, scamming is legal in Torn and it's always something you should pay extra attention to for that reason.

Don't get down on yourself cause of one scammer, tho. Shit happens and if you think it's the end of your game, then I guess it is.

But whether you get scammed or not, that doesn't take away from how cool this game is to most of us. Time to just learn from it and move on, in my personal opinion. I'd have to get scammed multiple billions for me to quit this game, I think.

Good song, haha, but in all honesty you should keep playing. Who hasn't been scammed in Torn for major money?

When I was like 150 days old I found a Casino Pass in the city and the person I traded it too dropped several 0's off the trade. I was so excited to finally be able to buy new gear and a house... then I checked and only got 50,000 got it. Still doubled my net worth at the time but it was worth like 500mil.

When I was 1900 days old I loaned a HUGE stack of medical items to a friend who needed them, expecting them to send them back when they weren't needed. The "Friend", kept it and rubbed them in my face for weeks and then quit Torn a few years later with it the stack still in their display case.

This kinda stuff can only make you stronger. The fact that you haven't quit already means a lot.

If the loss of the in-game value is to hard to bare, It is likely safer to stop before amassing more. But if you can learn to play and disregard whether you win lose, Have lots/ have nothing.... then i think this game can do a lot for a depressed mind. It has helped me greatly, Though i have never been a good example :) , Regardless of the choice, you can always come back if you want. Why not take an extended break? Clear your mind, and come to a decision in the real world :p
