It has come to my attention, that yet another questionable fed was giving out recently. As some of you may have heard Sharpmid was put in fed for posting a link in forums recording conversation he was having with a few torn players.
What makes this fed seemingly unfair is that Sharpmid is claiming that pics of him were posted in forums prior to him recording the convos of some of the players that posted the pic of him. Punishment for the people that posted a pic of him? im not sure but it wasnt fed...
Though i do not necessarily agree with things some players do leading up to the events of them getting fed, i still believe in fairness for all.
So this OP is still left wondering, is favoritism being shown in torn? #freesharpmid
Have stated so elsewhere, but for what he has done, the punishment according to Torn rules is an Area Ban. So no, it does not seem justified to me.
As for the rest, i can even understand the difference of treatment between a young troll and some old well established players. Is it right? Probably not. But the amount of abuse some forum trolls put ppl through like the one Sharkey had, do make otherwise normal players do stupid stuff.
I didnt like him but the fed was stupid and unfair.

The majority of Torn community does not support the fedding of Sharp. The developers should give back his account and apologize and address the Torn community, who obviously cares.
I don't really care for Sharpmid, also as i said before i've been away from torn forums for a long long time, at least from GD, and the first post i read from him, i instantly placed him in the enemy list.
With that said, the outcome of the case, does worry me. There used to be a time in Torn where "punishment" was delivered out of proportion and only to some particular individuals even though the same abuse was made by many, and i wouldn't like to see us return there.

If you have never received a warning before, this is how they look:
Once you break the rules enough times, staff will issue "final warnings". It is not unreasonable to assume SharpMid received similar warnings to this as he has already been "area banned" before in the forums. No one baited him to record the video, no one baited him to post the links in the forums at least twice. If you can't play within the rules, then you don't belong here. Playing Torn is not a right, it is a privilege and if the people running the game have warned you numerous times, fedding you is their decision to make.
Everybody should think before they post on the forums. This isnt just aimed at the spammy field mice it is aimed at everyone.

Anything you post which 'isnt nice' is risky for you. Forum bans, maybe even feddings could follow depending on how 'good' the stuff you post is.
There is no mystical magical formula required to calculate what you should or should not post. Just dont be hurtful with your posts.
You can have fun posting your spams on the forums just be aware that if you push it too far then this will not be good.
Dont ruin a game for yourself just because you got excited and posted something bad on the forums. The forums are just window dressing and 80% spam. You dont have to use the forums if you are feeling 'excited'. In fact its probably a good idea that you dont use the forums if you are 'excited'.
If something isnt worth saying then dont say anything at all.

no argument from me about that but as stated the same thing was done to him, arguably worse with it being his actual picture, and the same punishment was not handed out to those that did it.
So just cause someone is a pain in the ass, kicking him off the game is justified? WTF. If this is true, eveyone here outta think about finding something else to do with their time, cause this mother****er jumped the shark.
As always, the main problem with staff action is the inconsistency shown. Either to people that the majority of Torn thinks deserve it, or to the ones staff are friends with.
Regardless, if real pictures of SharpMid were posted anywhere on Torn without his permission...that's real life harassment as well, isn't it?
