Hello, I think we should be able to @mention people. They would get a event that they had been mentioned directing into the thread with a link.
Edit: Perhaps people can't mention you if they are on your block list? Then they can't spam you with events.

Maybe not an event because I could See that being abused to flood mentions. But maybe a forum notification like how it shows when people like your post it could say someone mentioned you in their post.
There is a script with doctorn plugin I believe on chrome that allows your name to be highlighted when mentioned in chat. And highlights other members.

it's true, i have it active. but it's only a highlight if you're watching the chat. @mention, i assume, would give notify you even when you're not watching chat.

Yeah, and people will abuse it just like in discord, do you really want to log on to 15 or 20 mentions for nonsense, it's a good idea but people will abuse it like crazy.
If someone doesn't like someone they can just spam the shit out of them. can you imagine the mess?

The spam part could be handled by having a way to group notifications. Like be all, "hey... you've been mentioned [insert count here] times in [insert thread here] by [list of people]"

@mention wouldn't be all that useful without also having a longer chat history - I'd like to see that increased as well. Why not dynamically load back in time when you scroll up, with timestamps? That would be really useful, especially combined with @mention
For those worried about @mention spam I'm sure there can be a limiter or you could configure it off, or it could only work in faction chat or something like that.
Id love that as a forum feature but slightly tweaked-
doing @name would insert the name and link of the person into the post but not notify them
useful for faction threads about target bases
or maybe two different ones- @name would link to the person and notify them and @nameanon would link but not notify
and @ notifications could be turned off in settings
I actually like the @name for handling faction based strikes and attacks. Seems like something somebody should make a script to do.
