I Thought the point of the new bounty system was to protect weak players. But thats not the case as people can place very low cash bounties. There should be a minimum price like old system. So if anything, the old system was better.

My suggestion is to revert back to the old system.

Wasn't it 10,000 * player level as a minimum? Which meant that for a level 100, the minimum bounty was 100k? Or am I remembering it wrong. 100k is still well below the amount needed to keep a player in hospital, so I don't think it would really change much.

Right, my bad. That's what I get for posting straight out of bed.

Either way, I prefer the new system over the old one as it limits the amount of bounties one person can have set at any time. It wasn't supposed to protect weak players, it was supposed to stop players from being able to spam hundreds of bounties. Sure, you can set $1 bounties now, but you're going to have to put down a lot more money than that if you want to actually affect an enemy's gameplay.

The poster is a level 16. I think what he finds about the bounty system is that his antagonists are able to place bounty's well under 160k and still have people collect them just for their bounty hunting merits and not for the money. A solid valid point. I can't rate this suggestion up unless he modifies it to not go back to the old system. That system was changed to keep people from bountying people out of the game. Looks like that hasn't changed that much..I too, like Kayla, favor this system but maybe needs some tweaking.

I use to use bounty hunting for a cash income early in the game.....sort of sucks how little you can make bounty hunting if you're a newby. I hear and feel your pain Tenma...why don't you modify your suggestion....think it out first though, do that and I'll come back and rate it up if it's acceptable.

It's not so much that Tenma is worried about newer players being protected or not. It's that he's realised suddenly trying to hospitalise everyone in Supernova that he can, for seemingly no reason, means that people in Supernova with the money and patience to place bounties on him for attacking members constantly are doing so, and he doesn't like it.

The problem is you can still do that.

Personally I'd put the buy off system back in, and put the 10 limit on both sides, with a time limited recharge to prevent spamming.

Anything short of that would just be non effective and easily bypassed.

So.... lone nub attempts to follow through senseless grudge on an entire faction, realises mistake and then rather than attempt to atone for it and deescalate a worsening situation, tells them to "bring it on". Lone nub then proceeds to make a whiney suggestion thread when faction accepts invitation.

Be careful what you wish for, if you're not enjoying the current bounties you would have really hated the old system.

Despite my personal feelings towards the OP, with how the system is now, it needs to go back the way it used to be.

For two reasons, one, bounty spam has not been solved, at all.

Two, it hurts hunters who aren't just going for merits with the prices being so abysmally low at times. Most of the high cash hits are on faction related targets to knock them off a wall.

It either needs to return to the older system, or be further reworked. The 10 bounty limit is literally meaningless without a time limit applied to when you get those slots back, and it does not solve spam if it only cuts one way.

At the same time, bounties are not very effective against the original targets of the system, higher end players.

I like it the way it is now.

Bountying scammy field mice for $666 is cheap and effective.

Some players just arent worth spending money on because they will quit or get fedded soon. If bountying rabid field mice became more expensive a lot of those players simply wouldnt get bountied by anyone at all.

Kinda a waste of a slot, at least that was Ched's idea.

If they aren't worth spending money on, they aren't worth bothering with, really.
