You have, after returning, claimed that you are black, female and now blind? Well, your personal photos say otherwise.

For those who remember... PatBenatar (formerly known as Styx) once mentioned she was becoming blind. Some may have perceived her as pig-headed and very vocal, but when I kept my debates with her strictly to ideas, things were quite civilized.

However, she always kept some dignity about it. She never made a huge fuss over it, nor she ever begged for pity or special treatment in a text game like Torn.

As a matter of fact, she went on to prove it was possible to become a PA team leader (yes, leader) without having a huge amount of pre-nerf busts. On that day, she proved a lot of people wrong, including me... not with words, but with deeds.

You should have listened to your mother. She was right when she said you would go blind if you kept doing it.

One of my faction members is ACTUALLY blind. He has a wonderful view on life and manages the game with only minor discomforts.

I think you are full of crap and are in fact a horrible person because of this.

In sympathy for bcm 16 i started to use a white stick...damn i didnt see the guy coming , my stick folded up and I lost

Better weapons for disabled people I saw these walking canes are useless.

Having your head up your ass doesn't make you blind. You will get pink eye, though, and you'll deserve it.

As a 3/4 blind person who is rapidly losing that last 1/4 sight in the only eye I have left, I've read this entire thread and thought carefully about what you said as well as what everyone else said. First, I'll respond to your opening post.

"I have a confession to make. I am in fact blind." I don't believe you based on that statement alone. Anyone who was truly blind would never consider their handicap to be something they'd feel the need to "confess" to as if it were some kind of crime or something. Another thing that makes me not believe you is seeing those pictures of you that David shared which shows that you are "in fact" not blind. And your only response to those pictures was being "creeped out" that someone found your Facebook profile. That in itself is an admission by you that those pictures are of you.

"It is also the reason I am bullied a lot by other players." I read these forums every day and I've not seen a single post about anyone bullying you because you're blind.

"Should players with problems such as blindness be given in game advantages to make up for it?" So this post was made by you in an attempt to get "in game advantages" by claiming to have a disability that you obviously don't have? I, personally, don't feel the need to be given any advantages because of my disability.

"Would it be a good idea to have a disabilities box on people's profiles with their disabilities listed to make other players aware?" Really?! NO! It's no one's business what disabilities anyone has unless the disabled person chooses to share it. Before now, there was just one other person who plays Torn besides my wife who knows about my handicap.

That said, I'll tell you what happened to me. When I was younger, I was hit in one of my eyes by a gaming dart. I went into shock and as a reflex, ran face-first into the wall in the room. The dart was forced all the way into my head through my eye. Instead of an ambulance being called, I was dropped off in front of a grocery store and left there with that dart in my head until someone saw me and had me rushed to the hospital. I was there for 6 months and underwent several surgeries. After I got out of there, I was so traumatized that I started sleepwalking. In my sleep, I walked into something and hemorraghed the injury again. Gack to the hospital for more surgeries. So I grew up with a prosthetic eye. Yes, I was bullied and made to feel ashamed of the way I looked because I didn't look the same as everyone else.

Years later, I was given a medication by my doctor that had a 1-in-2,000,000 chance of affecting eyesight. Guess what? I was that 1 it affected. Ever since then, I had to get glasses and ever since then my eyesight in the only eye I have left has been deteriorating. So I'm sure that one day I will be totally blind. That scares me. I worry about how my life will be then. I worry about my wife and family having to take care of me. I worry about how I'll pay my bills. Those are just a few of the things I worry about around that situation.

I know that you have a reputation for being a troll on these forums. I don't care about that. But if your intention by making this thread was to intentionally hurt people who are blind or have other disabilities, congratulations, you have brought to the front of my mind a terrifying situation that I try daily to suppress. Thank you for ruining my day and possibly the rest of my weekend. Maybe one day you'll know how it feels to be "in fact blind". If you ever do and figure out a way to cope in that dark, black world, please let me know.

My mate lost an eye when he was 10 through playing chicken with a knife.It basically popped and went down the back of his inner eye causing swelling and he lost sight in it.Over the years it got really bad and he had to have it removed,leaving a not very nice eye hole...Iv been around him when people have said 'Gee Bob why dont you get a glass eye fitted?'



And he says 'Why the **** should I,i havent got look at it'

I was legally blind as well, I had lost my vision for 3 months after taking a flu shot. Yes it was a real challenge, but I made it thru. I was very lucky I got my vision back. Several players play with disabilities, people play with them each day.
