Carol was a happy, young boy. Carol had nice parents who loved him very, very much! Carol woke up everyday in his cool, pink pajamas. He would go to school with his little lunchbox that had little dinosaurs all over it, how cool! When Carol came home, he would play his video game about a superhero who would do good and fight crime. Sometimes at school, bullies would make fun of Carol about his name and say it sounded like a girls name, but it never bothered Carol, because he knew he had a mom and dad at home who loved him very much! One day after school, Carol was at home in his room playing his cool video game, when he heard something in the living room. To Carol, he couldn't quite understand it, perhaps it was mommy or daddy cheering about something? All of a sudden, Carol heard a loud noise, and it was what sounded like something falling down. Carol thought to himself, "Silly mommy and daddy, they must have knocked something over on accident!", and opened his door a little to see what happened. As Carol peered into the living room, he saw his mommy and daddy talking to each other, but they were very, very loud. Carol's dad exclaimed in a loud, angry voice, "All he does is play that stupid game, and you don't do anything about it!". Carol was frightened. Why was daddy yelling like that at mommy? Carol pondered, "Mommy looks scared, what could be going on?". Carol's mommy shouted, "He's right there, stop it!". Just after, Carol's dad threw something at mommy, and it hit her in the head. She put her hand on her forehead and held onto the boo-boo. Soon after, daddy pushed the entertainment center and it broke all over the floor. Mommy started crying as she went into the kitchen. Daddy then looked at Carol with a hard, angry face. He walked over and screamed at Carol, "Do you see what you did? Do you see what you made me do?". Carol was sad and frightened, daddy never talked to him like this before. Daddy hit Carol with his hand, leaving a little bump on his head. Carol looked down at his bright sneakers, waiting for daddy to stop yelling at him. Carol woke up for school, and he put on his cool kid clothes. Carol went to school happy, and couldn't wait to get home and play his little game. Carol had a surprise at school though, there was no one there. "Hello?", Carol said. Carol was, alone.
