Helping The New Players out!

Hey Everyone! A few days ago I began doing a little side project to help out the Really new players in TORN and help them feel welcome! the basic gist of it was to create parcels with simple equipment and send it to them as a nice boost. The Idea worked out great with me sending plenty of packages to them! So now this little jig is what I mainly do in TORN because I just really like helping people!

At the moment the packs are annoying to pack,  and given the 100 purchase limit, so is buying the items. So a friend suggested posting a Thread in the forums asking people to donate whatever they can to help out this little operation!  If you don't want to donate anything that's completely fine! I appreciate you Stopping to read this! (Thank you!)

But if you do want to donate here is some of the stuff that is highly appreciated!

• >Armor (Helmets, Vests, Gloves, Boots, and pants)
• > Large Medkits
• > Primary weapons (Navy MP5 and above, moving a bit higher in weapon quality)

No I have no reason to scam! I have more than enough to buy what I need! I didn't list money as needed items because what mostly holds me back is the 100 buy limit, not the cash! But I see where your coming from! 

Yes, I am but I think I can help the REALLY new ones out even if just a little! I might not be the best one for the job, but I can sure try!

You're absolutely right! A lot of new players don't continue playing! It might be sad, but it's the truth! Even if only 1/100 stays for the ride, I them to feel welcomed!

It's a nice gesture but I disagree with spoon feeding new players. I don't believe it actually helps them, doesn't teach them how to help themselves advance and makes them believe that they can just be given stuff rather than working for it. It just lets the feeder feel like they did something helpful. If you want to help new players, teach them about the game, help them find their place, don't give them free stuff for no reason. 

This is a great point! I can't say I agree, but I also can't say I disagree, yes spoon-feeding might be bad but what I'm fodoi is not setting them up jigh, but instead setting them on their way, which I also requested any advice you guys had towards them!

Your point about making them feel welcome is decent, but in the long term just giving them things is bad for them. It creates the mindset that they can just get things for free from richer players. Even thought he items you're giving them aren't good items, it's the mindset that creates beggars and helpless players. You know, "give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he'll eat for a lifetime"

If you want to help new players, it would be better to give them advice. At a glance, Torn can be a simple basic game consisting of nothing more the Gym/Crimes/Missions grind, but Torn is actually a much deeper and more complex game than it can initially appear. Show them that, and they might just stick around long enough that they won't need your gifts.

well 2 things here it likes the old saying goes , if you give a person a fish you feed them for a day ,BUT if you TEACH them how to fish you feed them for a life time . So if you really want to help new players out , then teach them how to play the game , and give them guidance  ,  give them packages of items or money only helps them for a day . I tell new player read the tutorial and guide section in forums , many threads there to help new players . You can also teach them how to not fall for scams.

Secondly you have said the same things i have seen many new players say .,but dont understand about the 100 items limit per day . You can only buy 100 items daily from the shops in torn , but you can buy an unlimited number of items from the market or bazaars or trade with people . I have come across lots of new players that get that confused 

I'm half tempted to empty out my extra items for this, but not for a 14 day old account.
