It's a text based game this isn't fecking WOW or whatever leeroy jenkins game you play consistently for your whole life, go outside you darn introvert and leave our beloved Kata alone.

Seriously, it's like what you'd imagine from a Soccer Mom named "Karen." The narssisitic inability to simply ignore something said on the internet is a deficit that I will never understand.  I have a few people in my REAL life that work hard to antagonize, bully or otherwise cause problems, and ignoring them is EASY. An imaginary text based game is nothing by comparison, there's block buttons ignore scripts, and the ability to simply text out, "Yeah, I don't really care" whenever someone brings that person up. The self indulgent screeching places an absurd amount of importance on a venue that's literally built around antagonistic behavior. I am astonished that ANYONE with skin thin enough to be so tilted could exist in this community for longer than a few weeks, let alone years.

I feel for WIB, I really do, because it's clear that she feels really threatened by whatever Kata did. (Though the accusations are so nebulously vague on this end of things it could be something like Kata farted in her general direction one time or some shit) Feeling that vulnerable really sucks, especially when you don't have any real authority or power to stop them. That I can totally understand, hell I can even EMPATHIZE with. But people who throw a screaming tantrum, particularly one directed at those people who aren't even tangentially involved, in an effort to drive someone out of a community often become the villian themselves. The precident is now set that if someone wants to get them tilted and upset, they just gotta push that button, they've learned they're incapable of ignoring anything said about them. This has done nothing but open to the door to people who genuinely want to hurt them, and it sucks. It places everyone involved in a shit position, and doesn't actually solve the problem. Kata isn't ACTUALLY the problem. Not being able to seperate out real life emotions from an imaginary text based game is the problem. If it's not Kata, it's going to be someone else, and every time there's a response like this, it's only going to encourage the more... shall we say, problematic? memebers of the community to instigate.

In short, it's a ****ing game people. It's not worth getting legit upset about. If you find yourself seeing red and wanting a glass of chardonnay so you can really let Janet know what you think of her after the debaucle at last weeks book club, instead, log off, take a break and a hot bath and remember, "Oh shit, I'm an adult aren't I?"
