seriously, only 7 people are interested in this, of which 5 would find it useful, and no thumbs up?
What about Racing Factions, if there was API for user racing data, faction management for "racing only" could be easily extended to allow for confirmable targets (wins, places, positions, car upgrades, car types, car class) and mail to those users based on specific selection criteria.
That does not mean ingame changes, but rather a different way for a faction to be run (like ER faction)
It would also avoid the need for indavidual user ingame browser scrape scripts
thumbs up are for quality posts, seems like it wasn't a quality post [:love_chemistry:]
no what it means is that there are not enuff developers who understand what a Racing API would give Torn.
its fine, all it means is that "not many, if any" have had any great ideas about what could be done with a Racing API, like managing a racing only faction...
according to other posts about API extensions and usage cases, it could be a few years before more people begin to realise what could be achieved with a Racing API.
However, I do know that the recent well publicized racing competition would definitely have benefited from such a resource.
so I will try again in 12 months... and in the meantime I will "flesh out" and actual JSON object and usage senarios, to help others better understand its potential
thnx for the interest
Cheers
Paul
Actually I just noticed that votes have doubled since previous post. When the votes get high enuff I will post the Racing API examples
in the meantime I would like those who vote NO to leave a comment as to why they think a Racing API is not useful.
when the votes get to a certain level I will reply to those comments and post the above mentioned JSON & usage cases
Before they implement a Racing API, Ched seriously has to giving Racing some upgrades .. maybe have a Racing 2.0 or something.
Already made a topic about that in suggestions.
Anyways, as far as this topic goes.
You might to give a few examples by what you think a racing API would achieve and actually do for the mere racer who dont touch any code.
