Ever thought that Torn is lacking a specific weapon? Ever feel you are so unique, that your uniqueness should be reflected in the weapon you wield?
Implementing this suggestion would make this possible: personal weapons
How it works:
- Every player may own ONE unique weapon for each weaponslot (primary/secondary/melee)
- These weapons are not tradeable
- If (when) you want to have a weapon, you submit an application form. This form includes all the fields that need to be filled in (description, name, image)
- The stats of the weapon will be in the top range of freely available weapons. In other words, you're just getting the same stats as you'd get buying the best normal weapon. You will have the same use of mods as you'd get on the "base weapon"
- Applying for a weapon costs € 25.000.000 (or an amount of points). This amount is non-refundable and is a fee for the processing of your application
- Apart from the application fee, you are also billed a price for the weapon itself. This should be a large amount of money, maybe dependent on the slot. For instance, a melee would cost $ 200.000.000, a secondary would cost $ 500.000.000, a primary $ 1.000.000.000 (prices to be determined).
- Staff will process the application. When approved the item will be added to the inventory and DB. You will be issued the weapon. If not approved, they will provide feedback. The applicant may chose to adjust his application based on the feedback, or withdraw the application (no refund).
- Admins may set restrictions to the image and/or description to maintain the "feel" of the game (for instance, all images must use the standard grey background and may only be so-and-so-large.
- Want another unique weapon? You can apply for a new one. But once approved, the old one dissappears.
Advantages:
- Money sink: rich dudes get something to spend money on, taking money from the economy which slows inflation
- Bragging rights: You will be more special than Champion who only has a Golden AK (that hobo!)
- Might open a new way of business for graphic artists
- Meh...it'd be fun.
