To unlock the museum you have to complete all of the History Courses in Education.

A flower set can also be traded for 10 points at the museum.

As above, a set of each flower or a set of each plushie can be exchanged at the museum for 10 points. When you sell them in Torn, they're usually being bought by people who can exchange them for a little bit of profit. 

If you've seen the movies then you already know what Deadpool does with Unicorn plushies .

Yes, but the unicorn is the horniest of plushies.

Had someone ask me to purchase 100 pushies and trade them for 5 times the cost...as im still quite new i was unsure if this was a scam.

It's not a scam.  People will pay $500 each to $750 each for plushies that cost you much less.

There is a limit on 100 items a day from the Torn shops, and people who are trading in sets need a lot more than 100 a day, so they pay you to buy them.

Lots of Torn economy revolves around plushies (and flowers) being traded in as sets.  Each set gives 10 points, and the points can be sold.  People use the points for energy refills, nerve refills, buying merits, buying bazaars, etc.

Probably not a scam.  If you're talking about sheep/kitten/bear plushies from Bits n Bobs then it's legit. A player can only buy 100 items from shops in the city a day, and plushies are items that are high in demand, so people will pay a premium to get more of them. You'll find that collecting flowers and plushies and selling them to people is one of the best and most reliable sources of income for any new player. 

It's legit. Because there's a limit of 100 purchases a day from the city, people who want large quantities of items will pay you more than the store charges for them. Most folks use this as a way to amass $ early in the game.
