[OLD]Looking for Wiki Contributors

I contribute by  'spam'ing Harley's mail box XD

I am interested, I'm very active.  I'm a teacher so  good writing and editing skills.  I am a volunteer editor for a non-profit organization as well.

May I apply? Though I am fairly new, I know quite a bit about the game mechanics, and can write in a educated, and informed manner. I have given advice to multiple players who have been on Torn for longer than I have, but helped them understand things that they didn't before. As an addition, I am very active  with a great interest in the game itself. 

I would be interested if there is still a need and a position available.  I spend a lot of time helping new players/faction members as much as I can already.  Often times it's by linking Wiki info and/or searching for guides/tutorials that have updated or more detailed information.

I can't claim to be the most knowledgeable player, but I would enjoy being able to update/fix/add to existing material in the Wiki.

Id be willing to help out, im relatively young compared to others, but I think I would be a great addition. I spend lots of my time on the forums, reading through everything I can look at, and helping out in Q&A. Ive even given some random new players advice, helped them with basic game knowledge, and anything they asked about. And answering my faction mates questions when they arise. I do have a ton of free time that I already spend on the game, and Ive always wanted to give back.

I am constantly trying to figure the details of the game out, and then try to explain to the members of my faction. Probably not able to contribute quantity like the stereotypical living-in-parents'-basement sort, but I would be able to contribute with excellent (American) English.

PS- I don't know if this line has been used on this thread prior to my post because I didn't care enough to read through all the other responses, a desirable quality in a potential wiki contributor. 

5 new people were added as wiki contributor, 2 of which already had the reporter role:

Should you have missed this round of applications / were not selected, applications will be opened again if there is a need for contributors in the future. 

I'd love to be a Wiki Contributor; I'm still pretty new to torn but during my short stay I've come to know quite a lot. I've been taught by very knowledgeable friends. I'm extremely active and dedicated when it comes to playing Torn. 

I would love to have the chance to help educate other players that may not know as much but at the same time help further my knowledge within the game.

Can someone fix Nash's nerve guide? Wasted a lot of nerve following it so far. "15-20 NNB: Perform the 5 nerve crime - 'Pickpocket Someone'" fails 100% of the time...

Well considering Nash's current nerve guide still says: 


15-20 NNB: Perform the 5 nerve crime - 'Pickpocket Someone'

• Kid
• Old Woman
• Businessman

Start with the Kid, and then after 50-100, start on the old woman, and again, after 50-100, move to the businessman. If you start failing more than 1 in 3, go back to the previous one until you are succeeding at least 4 out of 5. You may get jailed a couple of times mugging the businessman. Don't worry - this doesn't seem to affect CE too badly early on, so jump back to mugging the old lady for 50-100 mugs, and then keep doing the businessman until you either get jailed again, or hit 20 nnb. Don't ever bother pickpocketing the loan shark, as TCBasic suggests, as I've found you get jailed way too easily.

I'd suggest taking up any issues you have with the guide with her... :P

Might be prudent of you to update the name on the wiki to Alexstraza's nerve guide then.

It's still called Nash's guide to nerve in the forums as well, is it not.. [:tongue:]

True, but if a player that uses the wiki and not the forums searches for nash in game, they will find the person that's taken Nashs' name.

I can be an wiki editor to help those level holders... and how to make money, the benefits of having the sports science lab etc...

You can create a guide in the meanwhile.
