Just curious, but is there a particular reason why it isn't setup to be able to fly from one country to the next, instead of having to come back to Torn, before going to another country?

My guess is that it's to keep it from being too profitable. 

If you could go from place to place at shortened times people would be able to run sets a lot faster and in one swoop should they wish. (If the item limit for each place raised as you went)

that a good question, but i think it would be pretty pointless as you can only carry a certain amount of items so wouldnt see much point going to 2-3 different places at once, 

you will also lose out on crucial energy/nerve

well that's the weakest thing about flying as a game mechanic. there should be more things implemented to spend energy abroad, like hunting in sa, and there should be things to do with your nerve bar while abroad too.

I like where you are going with this.

you have traveled 11 times and complain nothing to spend energy on  and very  little to gain , so going to some countires and buying 29 plushies or flowers for a 2-3 mil profit isnt worth it

I wouldn't say the potential to make $5m+ a day profit is very little gain. 

You can attack player to 'spend your e' if you want, tho it did lacked the place to spend nerve abroad. Be patience, just wait for travel 10.0 when torn 100.1 release! Cheers!

If you're looking for ways to spend your energy abroad you're doing it all wrong. All energy should go into the gym, except for the occasional missions and chaining (mugging when you're older and can actually get some profit out of that).

As for nerve, yeah there could be ways to spend it abroad, like special crimes that you could only do in certain locations. Maybe crimes 2.0 will bring something new in this regard. On the other end, by flying you can maintain a regular source of income that can get up to 5m per day or even more if you're active enough. I think that exchanging some nerve loss for that is perfectly acceptable, don't you?

TomThumb (the original poster) and tmcgreal (who said that flying gives you very little gain) are both living in palaces.

And that's part of the problem.  The reason you aren't gaining much is because you aren't using a PI.

Living in a PI has several advantages.  The higher happy helps with every gym gain, for instance.  For travel, using the PI to travel speeds travel by 30%, and it lets you carry 10 extra items.

Base travel only gives 5 items, so using a PI and carrying 15 makes a big difference, especially when combined with the faster flight times.

A large suitcase can add +4 more items, and faction perks can add up to 10 more.  29 items if you have the PI, the large suitcase, and a faction with +10 items to travel.  THere are a few ways to go even higher (certain jobs and at least one book) but those aren't common, so for most people, the max is 29 or slightly lower.

Also, it depends on what you buy.  Flowers and plushies make good profit.  Temp weapons can be decent.  Xanax can be good from South Africa (but not from anywhere else.)  Almost every other item will bring in much, much lower profits.  If you pick up snowboards or soccer balls or pele charms, you won't make much profit.

People who travel constantly can make $5M or more a day.  Even fairly casual travelers can make $3M profit in a day.

It traveling isn't profitable for you, then it's because you're doing it wrong.  If you're living in a palace, then renting a PI is step one.  I recommend the ones with 3700 happy.

 

 

This is the truth. It provides enough income to even train with drugs in a PI, possible a 3700 happy one of you find a good deal but I went with a 2.5k happy PI. When picking one to rent, make sure it has an airstrip, then hire a pilot. It turns traveling from boring to profitably boring. 

Just to add on to this, if flying somewhere far away like China or Japan, you can attack some people to spend the energy that would otherwise go over cap. I haven’t done this myself, but I’ve been on the receiving end a few times. 

travelling is such a great source of income i only travel during the week as im working then so im not playing the game, so i log on every 2 hours to travel return travel return..... so even if you think it is little gain would you earn rather earn nothing or "little gain" whilst your working/studying and can not play at them times...

also i have a large suitcase/Private island/+10 travel items faction benefit i can carry 30 items a run im making 8m maybe just a little over aday doing that 5 time a week so im making roughly 40m a week from travelling when im unable too play due to working...

whilst also having that i also own the FHG BB so that generates another 14m a week so im generating over 50m a week from doing the stuff that gets you "little gains" when im unable to play

1st of thats is what i do abroad because that is all there IS. to do abroad, there  need to be  more than just  market, unless  your calling flowers/plushies trash items

My only thought about being able to fly from one country to another with out going back to torn was that if you went to a country and they were out of plushies/flowers you could go straight to another country and buy how ever many you needed. I have just got to the place where I can get more that just 5 and am working to come up with enough to rent a PI.

my point is that is all there is to do in most countries buy plushies and flowers, need more options other than just the market
