So... Some of you may have read my previous thread on the different types of TORN players. I decided to narrow this down even more, and do some work on the different types of forum users and their target demographic, because... why not?

The Stirrer:

There are two kinds of stirrer on the forums. The troll reporter, and the busybody. One is a loser who likes to stir trouble by putting two people against eachother, with little to no factual basis, in an attempt to cause drama and get a laugh without getting their hands dirty. The other is the busybody. This person tends to report actual facts, but with no intention other than to prove that they know everything and to try and karma farm through leaking people's bullshit.

The Trader:

Generally only living in the Trade forums, they will have a huge thread full of "satisfied customers", or people who they have paid to comment on their post saying they are honest and mug free traders... and not losers who value pixel currency so highly that they'll spend their entire evenings flooding trade chat in an attempt to make some money by lowballing noobs.... Just kidding, we love you and your money making schemes, traders :D

The Artist:

Whether for money in game, or just for fun, the artist will spend a lot of time on the Graphics forums making art/graphic design. They solicit their services for the right price, not unlike a prostitute. A talented prostitute. One who's goods are slightly better to look at.

The Moaner:

"I got scammed", "[insert player here] buy mugged me", "mountain is a creep", and similar posts moaning about their hardships encountered playing the game. Usually they fall victim to trolling and dislikes... the particularly stupid ones will make a post moaning about this too.

The Lurker:

Look at me! I can read! Not that anyone will know I can read because I'll very rarely post anything to show I can read, but trust me, I can read.

The Karma Whore:

Leaves sarcastic comments on DUDE posts in attempts to gain upvotes. Says what people want to hear, will probably reply to this post saying something like... "TL;DR" or "nothing we haven't heard already". A shitty sarcastic sense of humour is a must. They like to defend it as being "witty"... Replace the "w i t" with "c u n" and then you might be on to something.

The Forum Troll:

These take on many forms. Shitposters, wind up merchants, spammers, meme abusers and flamers, to name a few. Sometimes they can be funny (rarely), and from time to time they might actually create a forum post that makes people giggle and start a genuinely good discussion... But these are far and few. Most of their threads end in derailment from flaming at the OP. To call them intelligent would be an overstatement, but some are very good at what they do.

Finally... The Backseat Staff:

There are some players, usually veterans who are either ex-staff or consider themselves adequate to become staff, and they like to leave comments on threads saying things like "grave this", or "how are you not fedded yet?". They also like to make their own threads calling out players telling them that they are soon to be fedded, and the like. They are fairly similar to the moaner, but are slightly less repetitive and irritating.

EDIT - The Font of Knowledge:

Everybody loves this player. They are always veterans of the game, 10+ years of experience, and they go out of their way to help anybody that needs it, spending time in Q&A and even GD, helping to add to the knowledge base of the game. They often add to the wiki as well. Many of the staff come under this, and so do ex-staff. Bogie is a prime example of this. We love you guys :D

What about the players who focus on contributing to the knowledge base? Those who spend most of their time in T&G, Q&A, B&I, etc.?

I feel like this list is mainly directed at General Discussion and the players who only engage here. Nothing wrong with that, but saying it describes all forum users seems inaccurate.

I'd consider myself as 'The Artist' but you have seemed to forgot to add 'The Aggressor' to the list.

For the self proclaimed savages out there.

feel like you are missing the scripters: there are a hand full of userscript/web tool building devs

unless they fall under lurker? xd
