I am writing this about the fedding system of Torn.
I’ve recently just gotten out of the federal jail after having been detained for 7 days. I get that there are rules but in my case where I plead not guilty, it could be argued that at the very least the accused be given a chance to defend himself before the hammer is brought down upon him.
I have played the game for a short while (short in comparison to those who have been in for years etc) but have grown to love it and in turn decided to become a subscriber for life to show my support of the people maintaining this. It is extremely disappointing to have been accused and punished immediately without having the opportunity to reqson out.
I attempted to explain my side to the staff. It appears that they are not considering anything. I have several friends that owe me a lot and some of them are my housemates. I usually talk to them irl instead of ingame since that is more convenient. I have had them give me money, plushies and flowers, and several other stuff in payment for the things they owe me irl (money and favors). In some of the transactionsI made them put messages as it would definitely be suspicious to just be moving money around without sense. But apparently, even with the explanation they still deemed me to be guilty.
Idk. With the while ordeal I just felt like they weren’t at all interested in helping me. What with all the lazy replies and unenthusiastic way they have dealt with me. So to the point of this post. Even if I’m probably going to quit, I still believe this is a good place for a lot of people, and will continue to be for a long time. But I also believe that it could still be improved in THIS aspect. I felt like a criminal without having been proven guilty. And I do NOT feel guilty. If anything I feel sad. They dug me a hole that seems impossible (or at least too tedious) to climb out of. That will be all. To the people: have a nice day and good luck woth your Torn lives. Secondly for the staff: I understand you have a job to do and that if anything this post is pointed at the system not you guys. I believe some of you may still improve in the aspect of professionalism among other things. Take care of the Torn citizens.

I got done for middle manning in my first few weeks in Torn because I had no idea what it was and a very well established player approached me and asked me to do a job for him.

I didn’t think it was fair and didn’t think they gave me any chance to explain but I broke their rules and now I can see it’s fair enough.
Yes a lot of new players dont read the rules until its too late, which is a shame.
Something which may seem innocent to a new player may in fact by against the rules and will be in there plain as day.
The number 1 tip for a new player is to read the rules first or very soon after signing up.
REAL MONEY TRADING: DELETION

I'm more surprise that you're out of fed than anything. Seems to me you got lucky and Staff were quite forgiving. If you shoot someone irl and plead not guilty because you didn't know there would be a penalty, I doubt the judge would punish you with a 7-day prison sentence. Ignorance isn't a proper justification for any action.
Literally as everyone has mentioned you took part in real money trading its literally the first thing that is shown in rules at least go through the rule before complaining about staff member.
This is just pathetic complaining and nothing better. Your real lucky you weren't fedded permanently now count your blessings and stop complaining

Why do you mention being a subscriber as if that should give you special treatment when it comes to enforcing rules? If you love the game you will understand that the rules are there for your own good and to keep the game enjoyable.

I think staff were quite lenient, you should be thanking them.
I suspect the deletion is reserved for the real scumbags. The nasty pieces of work who should behave themselves and they know exactly what they are doing. The innocent new field mice maybe given a chance.

Well that's made me see things clearer. Thanks to the helpful replies. Completely forgot about that part. Never realized that what I was doing WAS rmt. At least I know that I was in the wrong. Thanks again to the nice and calm replies. God bless otherwise.

Actually it will. As someone else has pointed out, pretty much no one (read: not everyone) reads rules. Just like TOS's. I think it could serve as a lesson to a random newbie who comes across this
