Is there a way for me to check how close i am to leveling up?
Not just yet, once you get to level 15 you can fly to China and visit the fortune teller - until then just stick with it! Don't forget to workthose stats as well as doing your attacks!
Level up to 15 then fly to China and ask the fortune teller, she'll tell you how close you are to leveling up.
Until you reach level 15, it doesn't matter how close you are, you need to keep working on leveling up.
Once you are level 15, again, it doesn't matter, because you should be working on training your stats, and you don't need to work on leveling up.
