Recently the amount of users (me including) who get stealth perma attack is slowly increasing.

I understand the "strategic" choice of using "stealth only" attacks to prevent the victim knowing who attacked, but also it's just a one-way, non-counterable interaction within a game.

Let's assume we include a new item into the game, which goes into the Temporary slot.

This item, let's call it "Camera", will have a "minimum" Chance of 10%, going higher with higher stats, to "detect" the attacker.

Disadvantage is that you will use up the temporary slot, will waste a turn for using the camera and "just a chance" to "detect" the attacker. The chances are low and combined with several disadvantages, but, in the same time, it allows a counter play.

My current option is "luckly" have a mate attack me, while the other one attacks.. means if the attacker somehow don't oneshot me, he also must be in the attacking window.. or if the attacker decides to attack with a weapon.

The last option would be to get much more stats a weeks in the gym than the attacker.. but considering that the dude is ton of levels and stats over me, probally millions/billions of dollar richer, the attacker eventually WILL improve faster than me or at least the difference will be so low, that I probally will need 1-2 years of training, so I can finally "compete" with that attacker.

TL:DR

New Camera Item that takes up the Temporary slot, which allows the user to have a chance to "detect" who is attacking. The chance has a minimum value of 10% and is increased by your stats (and/or difference between your stats and the attacker). So the "stealth mechanism" is still in tact and only have a "chance" to get by passed.

I mean the majority of the game has BIG stat differences and if a high stat user decides to terrorise a lower stat enemy, he literally can't counter play that.

There are some educations you can get to reduce an opponents stealth. Interesting idea though to have a temp item reduce stealth.

There are also weapon mods that can reduce an opponents stealth, as well as company perks. To the OP, this idea could be pretty costly. You would have to set temporary item usage to 100% on defends, in an attempt to catch every stealthed attack. This means that whether their attack would have been stealthed or not, you would still be using a camera on every defend. Assuming that these proposed temporary items cost money, that could quickly add up in cost, depending on how much you're getting attacked. It's an interesting idea, but I don't personally feel like it would be worth it. Also, suppose you do catch your attacker. Their stats and networth will likely be MUCH higher than yours. Is that really someone you want to coax into attacking you even more, due to your retaliation against a stealthed attack? Those are just my thoughts on the matter. I'll still give you a R+ and hope you get to see your idea come to fruition.

You don't have to make a whole new suggestion to catch your stealther, just pack a SED in an empty box, and open the parcel while your HP drops. Use it before they click hosp and you'll have a name in a couple mins.

This, or have a batch of nerve on you at all times to do some pawn shop crimes. Shit jails you fast and the attacker will be sat there scratching their heads :D
zorndyuke [2177535]

Yes, since stealth is a core part of the game, trying to bypass it should have some "risks" or "costs". I think 100% chance would be too much, because people that play this game for years will have a big advantage and can bypass this 100% of the time. So having a lower chance should prevent it to become a easy thing.

The costs for that item should be expensive, but not dumbbell expensive. Maybe something like small explosive device (5m-10m range) or maybe even a bit cheaper in the 1m$ range, since it's just a one-time use 10% chance item.

Isn't that exactly the opposite you want to do with your crime exp? :P

Which one is this, how can you get it, what does it cost and what's the "exact effect"?

P.S. Funny story. The attacker just stepped forward on his own and trying to blackmail me. :D

@OP - I feel like this idea would be viable in the game, but in a different form. There are already educations and things to reduce an opponent's stealth, but it would be nice if this effect was added to a defensive temp that already exists, rather than making a whole new item, such as a flash grenade or a pepper spray on defense. Similarly, it could also quite simply just be a job special in something like a detective agency - "Surrveillance" and reveals say your last 5 defends for 25 job points or something like that.

All in all, it is a suggestion I would love to see implemented into the game, but as a concept, rather than an item. Reducing stealth is something I'd love to see more of, seeing as increasing it is so easy.

So BB builds his 300 tril dex eith thousands of SE's just so a noob with a camera can take a pic of him lool bam no stealth now.

Try to understand, people who've played longer should and will have an advantage over you
Ekko_ [1621978]

And the Camera gets added to the attackers inventory. Epic! Slight chance of identifying the attacker at the risk of being attacked even more when they try to steal your cameras.

Edit: Except that would give fuel to the question of making items muggable. And we don't want to go there.

Music store specials
High-fidelityPassiveReduced enemy stealth

I dont think we need new item for this
zorndyuke [2177535]

@Sharivan: Thanks for your opinion and the hint for the Music Store.

Looks like there was a bug or something, because I can't see any values in the table (Oh, now I can see it.. I saw the two empty rows, so I assumed the first line is just a title for the columns.. but it's actually 1:1 what I wrote :D).

So I just googled for them:

- Music Store 5* passiv: Reduced enemy stealth

- Hair Saloon 5* passiv: Reduced enemy stealth

Do you have any experience in how much reduction this is? I know that there is a attachment that decreases the stealth by approx. 3~

My faction member told me that he knows "at least ~7.8" (or something). The question is.. "from what"? If it's 7.8 from 10, then it's over 50%! But if it's 7.8 from 100 or even 1000, well then it's very little.

It also is something that is extraordinaly bound to either a very expensive attachment or one of the two jobs with at least 5 stars, which are really bad requirements for such thing.

Having the option for a temp item that can help you out with this is much better and easier to track. Also aviable for everyone instead of a few people.
Sharivan [1948134]

yes...more than 50% ive been in 10* music store abt a year ago during dog tags. most who attacked me didnt stealth. go give it a try my math sucks
