What the **** are you on? Hey I didn't realize that it was a crime to play Torn while one drugs.
If you are worried about a rule that gives absolutely no advantage and is purely for other faction members to remember someone. Then you can keep you mouth shut. They are probably a very respected faction member and no doubt were friends of many of the people in the faction. It acts a virtual gravestone
This is almost the equivalent of saying we should not have gravestones to remember the dead
man why would a faction do that?
Poor excuse of a troll, and in poor taste.
I see dead people
It was a pretty good troll and with every great troll there's a grain of truth. The truth here is that while this change isn't one that will effect the game in any adverse way, the way it went about was wrong. People played on emotions and manipulated others to get what they wanted. Sorry for shining a light on it.
"People played on emotions and manipulated others to get what they wanted."
What did they get? A +1 to their member count that serves no tactical, financial or physical advantage to any member or the faction itself.
Or more importantly a space to honour and remember a lost faction member and without a doubt, a dear friend to many.
The only light shining you did was to illuminate what a total insensitive dick you are.
They say trolls do what they do to project their own misery and self loathing onto others to make them feel better about themselves. Goes to show you are one miserable ****er in real life aswell as on here.
So, what's the problem? Do you gain a buff for amount of ppl you have or something, I thought you only got things when the player played. >.>
No benefits are received, it simply allows the faction to honour their fallen comrade... this is just a big non issue to me...
Thats like saying.. The dead don't deserve to have a grave stone.. I would feel honored if my faction fought to keep my name. Much respect to those who did fight. Shows true loyalty.
Beneath contempt
Hope you all ain't dying on me here.
Even if we did, it seems you wouldn't care enough to want to remember.
Why won't you let this thread die? Can this be graved please staff?
Torn needs a stupidity test when profiles are made..
It would prevent this carry on
As this is a) a self-confessed troll thread and b) been necrobumped - I am going to grave it.
In the end, the only offended people were the living. Not a single fallen player complained about it. Not one.
What if, somewhere, maybe, somehow, at least one of them had a giggle over it? Imagine being dead, but watching your own funeral, everyone you knew, everyone you loved, crying, sobbing, feeling lost without you, looking down.
Consider that, at that point, all you'd really want to do is put the "fun" back in funeral. You would want your loved ones to have a laugh, even at your expense, to remember what they loved about you in life, and to bring out what you loved about them! I can imagine Philistine having a laugh over this thread, because that's just the kind of person I perceived him to be. No disrespect.
KickRocks is right about one thing, best as I can tell:
You do get a small respect bonus for hosping an entire faction, but factions with fallen players that can't be done, so it does give them a small advantage, bet. That's why certain factions in the past would keep feddded members around. A few still do.
The reason for this post is that someone linked me to this thread in an attempt to slant my perception of KickRocks in a negative light, and, all things considered, I don't feel like that's right either.
A true empath tries to see both sides of an argument, particularly an emotional one. Letting go (acceptance) is the final, and arguably the most important, part of the grieving process. If memorialising fallen players in this game inhibits or prevents that, it may well be a bad thing. No, these things aren't easy to come to terms with, but doing so will make you stronger for it. Avoidance and lashing out at someone who dares to call something into question something you hold "sacred" is perhaps even more unhealthy than being callous.
That is all.
