I was under the impressions that your DS increases every time you race, regardless of where you place. Lately I've been noticing no increase after some races. Do I have it wrong, or is this a bug?

not wrong, no bug, the higher ds you have the harder is to make it go up, kind the same has leveling up in Torn. The ds will be gain the more your race! 100 laps race are the best for that! Some torn jobs also will help higher your ds! I am at one!
