Probably a total newb question, but it's been a while since I was capping stats so bear with me []  I seem to remember the guides back then saying you'll cap a stat around 50m stats. I always assumed it was based on e used / trains used on that stat, which then works out around ~50m. Now I see the guides listing the 50m as a set value you'd cap it on. Which one is true?

In other words... Will a book giving +30% gym gains help you cap a stat faster?

When you hit 50,000,000 for one stat, it's capped meaning there are no more incremental gains as it goes up from there.

And to answer your second question, 30% increase to gym gains will help you cap faster, but sometimes it's better to be stat capped before using it - it's all a matter of opinion. 30% increase is still 30% increase.

Should i use a book (+30 gym gains) that will boost me to cap quicker OR wait until i hit cap naturally and gain more using the book after?

Whats the best option and why if possible??
Indent [2032117]

Well if you stat cap then use the book, you'll see better gains than is available prior to stat cap. You could also take that time to save cans or FHCs to optimize the use of the book. Ideally, you'd want to be chewing through as many cans or FHCs as possible during the month that you're reading the book.

Might also be useful to hop into a Fitness Center, Ladies Strip Club, or Gents Club to get even better gains out of it.

I know what the stap cap is lol. My question is if the 50m is a set value, or if it's based on e spent on that stat which effectively works out around 50m. Always thought it was the latter

On another note does anyone know how do I level up?
Rum4nyby [1567187]

It’s a set value. So when your stat hits 50m, regardless of how you got there, the gains will stop increasing and you’ll have constant gains.

If you’re planning on using a book and wanna know if you should wait till capping before using it for more gains, I’ll just say this. Sure you’ll gain more stats if you use the book after capping, but it’ll take longer to cap. And sure you’ll gain less stats if you use it before capping, but you’ll actually cap it faster. Doing things faster is always a good thing, so use the book and train them stats up ^_^

Word to the wise, the energy to double a stat remains fairly close up until 25 million in the stat {it takes less and less}. So, it's better to use up any books that are viable as weak as possible because the book being used will compound until the stat is at the cap. It's why I used my strength book to train it up... When it's all said and done I'll get over 40 days saved from using it, even though I didn't use any cans.

You can listen to the others if you want but it's always statistically better to use stat gain books after the stat cap.

Exception is anything to do with happy, where you should always use it as early as possible.
Cryptic [2059197]

Not sure you're entirely right because stat gains before the cap compounds... But you know that...

To test: compare figuring the time to get a stat to the cap, then add a month of training with the book active/ ( one set maxed other realistic), now take 10 stats and calculate a month of the book, from there calculate the time to the cap and you remember how much not using the book took to get to the cap? Add that time plus the month of using the book if the time is different... Now compare the results... Reasonably sure that it'll be favoring the 10 stats.

I do have a spreadsheet that can calculate this to... But I'm feeling lazy tonight... Maybe in the morning. It's using your formula :).
Cryptic [2059197]

Of course I know that the impact of immediate gains vladar. My point is that the results that compound AFTER the book before the stat cap. Past the cap of course stat growth is linear but before the cap it is not linear. You double your stat when whoring every so much energy spent per gym dot with x amount of happy. Getting +30% early means you're way ahead of the curve.

So what I an saying is that the books impact lasts until your stat is beyond the cap due to exponential growth . I will run those numbers today making a few assumptions if I have time... If I am wrong when I get a chance to do that I'll eat my words but I don't think I'll be mistaken.

So when I cap with a stat, let's say strength, I will get more out of the percentage than with like 10m. But since the stat is capped at 50m, why do I want to get better gains, if it doesn't do anything for me?

The only reason for me would be to reduce negative stat effects like drugs. So if I have 100m strength and get -50% strength from a drug, I still am capped with the remaining 50m strength. Are there any other reasons?
Indent [2032117]

Your stats still go up beyond 50m, so it does do something for you. The name of the game (for most) is to get better stats.
Vladar [1996140]

It isn't actually capped at 50m, it's just that the rate of stat gain increases stops at 50m.  Whether you have 50m or 500m, your gain per energy spent will be the same.
Pachico [2066685]

about isng the +30% book pre cap or post cap, imo, it's same ? as long as u make the most of it ? that means max use of E cans and such, or FHCs, or whatever it's best

cuz the way you see it, it'll just speed up time to cap it, whch means you'll be training extra days on capped stats...

as an example, 20mil to 200mil, with book used pre cap, it takes 45days, with book used post cap it takes 45days (just an example, ik i'm far away with the 'days' thing xD )

Your "30% for a week used right away" and your "30% for a week used after cap" both have the same gains up until cap, which wouldn't be the case if you were using the book beforehand. To really compare you'd need to initialize table 3 using the data pre-cap (of 1000) from table 1, and only switch after you reach the cap.
Cryptic [2059197]

That is exactly the point I have been making... I have a spreadsheet that can do this with a little time and some effort, but so far today I haven't had time to actually run the calculation. When I run it I'll be running a few different situations to humor myself, and for what I believe to be more likely.

I won't use "perfect training method" because of stacking with 1k energy then dumping energy  it would  need a rework of how my spreadsheet works and to be frank the base assessment of it will hold true regardless.... but I am running very late today with the things I have to do at work because I had a few unexpected tasks that needed to be done so.... maybe during my lunch break if I can catch up by then.
Vladar [1996140]

Yeah I screwed that up. I reran the math using the actual formula and it appears as if for the PERCENTAGE stat gain books it makes no difference when you use it - you end up with pretty much the exact same stats at the end.  For the absolute gain book (5% after 30 days), it is always better to take it after the stat cap.
Korin [2106899] Wiki Contributor

Yeah, the absolute gains book is always better to use after 200m since that's where it caps the gain at. We've actually got someone checking soon whether the gain is based on your stats when you start reading or when you end, but either way it's not worth using before you'll be at 200m.

It's good to know that the percentage stat gains book doesn't matter. That's what I believed to be the case, but I wasn't certain (and hadn't gotten around to running the numbers yet myself lol)
