I'm having some trouble getting my GT40 up to par in Docks races. I've tried fiddling with the transmission upgrades, but am still finding myself 10sec off from the fastest times. Can anyone think of what obvious thing I'm overlooking?

Long ratio gearbox for Docks,
Being the longest of the racing tracks it is hardest to get a fast time on. The RNG gets more time to work. Also Docks has probably been raced the most in TC as it is the go to track for XP whore races, so the leaderboard is effectively saturated.
I regularly am 10 sec slower than the leaderboard on Docks as well.
Is long ratio gearbox the only thing though? Currently, my top Personal Best spot is occupied by my LFA and 2nd-5th by my NSX, yet I'm constantly being outperformed by GT40's. Is the Docks race one of the cases where I should downgrade the turbo?
clean the carb
Tried that. Even changed the blinker fluid.
