As announced by Alexstrasza, the Insurgency has completed its wartime objectives: we took the island and displaced JFx of their territorial strongholds, we convincingly overpowered the entire JFx syndicate, and, most importantly, we had fun in a war involving thousands of players of all stripes. Some battles were clearly between titans, but there were opportunities for players of all levels, stats, and specializations to participate, even those whose primary game is socialization and memes. Our sincerest thanks go out to Torn United Nations for engaging us as gamely as we did them and for taking this in the spirit in which it was intended.
For us, this war is over. We have collapsed some of our borders around sector 1 and settled into our long-term map positions. It was never our intention to lock the strong factions of TUN completely out of sector 1, so we have vacated some of our original holdings. For those wishing to fight for those spots, we will not interfere in battles against non-Insurgency factions.
We are aware that the leader of JFx (aka: Ched's United Nations of Torn) has decided that the war is somehow still ongoing. As far as we're concerned, you can't un-lose a war by pretending you never lost. If JFx wishes to restart hostilities, as it appears they have, we are happy to accept this second conflict. While JFx continues to exist, so, too, shall the Insurgency.
If you are, however, less than thrilled about demanding a recount for an election that was lost by a landslide, the Insurgency will never seek revenge on you just for having participated in the war, nor are we going to raid your subfactions or hospitalize those who simply let your faction pass through. If you are interested in a Torn where 1v1 wars are still possible without someone looking over your shoulder, now is the time to move on from the JFx model.
