Hah! I had to go check out your stats to see that you really don’t do crimes and while there, I found a red egg that gave me +10 nerve so I could do more crime! Yay!

Just want to achieve the Escobar award.

It's very annoying the way crimes "work" do anything a bit interesting or to make money and your penalised for it.

Edit :

Torn the crime rpg!

Sadly, crimes are very unfulfilling on this game.

A crime based game where crimes hardly matter seems strange in my eyes.

They need to either be more profitable, or more interactive as right now, they seem like a waste of time.

If it wasn't for merits, i probably wouldn't bother with them.

If you use your daily nerve on arson warehouse it pays for your PI upkeep. That’s worth me clicking a few buttons.

view this thread, do an arson and get a red.

it should be a goal to be able to do PA crimes since most factions pay out pretty fairly everybody gets a cut including the faction.

plus on the other side of things there is the free respect. all those little micro growth bits of xp and gym gains meaning things such as taking a few candies to increase gains for say 1% by taking some happy boosters or even something like the Cayman bank for example all these little things work together to make a well rounded player that can play the game in various ways which should make it so that you can do different things from day to day and make a long lasting fun experience playing this game.

you wanna do crimes that have decent income well your not gonna get there on a 20 NNB you gotta build it up and then use it and rebuild it after your nerve drops off.

you wanna play for war you gotta train as much as you can.

you wanna be a item trader you need money and you need battle stats so that you can both buy and sell thru out the day and properly defend against as many muggers as you can.

you wanna be a popular forum poster and get karma you gotta build that to by posting good topics with lots of information and fun little tid bits that draw in a crowd.

if you think crimes are not important then neither is working stats really because you really dont need a whole lot to be in some sort of company...now the higher up companies such as tv stations and oil rigs you will need higher work stats but if you dont want either of those or a job in a company that does need higher work stats that means work stats dont matter either...but yet they still matter because you want whatever company you join to rank up so you can have more specials or you want the company your in to stay at 10* so you want your work stats to be higher to help with that.

now if your someone that can seriously do a play thru with out crimes or work stats and you dont wanna do forum posts and you dont wanna do trading of any kind and you dont wanna do wars or bother with going to the gym then really there is no point in playing this particular game.

For a game that advertises crime rpg it really is a meh.

Steal jackets spam button.

Do arsons spam button.

In years you get to do political assassinations!

Not really as people are led to believe.
I am not knocking the game on the whole just when you want to do bit of variety on the nerve bar you get smacked. Maybe crimes 2.0 helps you specialize in the other crimes the more you do them.

I decided to do crimes in the past to get to hacking. Now I only do hacking crimes. Sometimes I fail most times I don’t. It’s good money $250k-$350k each time. Plus makes me feel special. Anyway, you CAN play the game without doing crimes. But the only purpose for nerve would be to bust all over people. I mean bust people! Heh

Merits is only reason -been at 60 nb for few yrs was on a pa team for awhile in a couple different factions but not currently.

If I get all crime merits (except drug ones) and I still can't get on a pa team, I will trash my nb doing them

This isn't a crime game doesn't matter what a outdated cover page tells you.

Literally every game in existence is so-called "spamming buttons" except for maybe VR and motion-camera based games.

The primary way to level is committing a violent crime: assault by attacking people. Mugging people, another crime, is some people's primary source of income. Attacks gain factions respect which makes them gangs which occasionally go to war (these are real crimes ruining real neighborhoods to this day). Scamming, another crime, is part of regular Torn life.

So I disagree that Torn is "meh" as a crime rpg.

A boatload of merits and the PA income is nice to have and not that hard to get if you are already grinding for merits.

im hopeful there will be new things to do with it which is why im sitting on my 60NNB and doing GTA1 for merits for awhile they are pretty easy to get with no jail time so that has been my focus all this year.

now if i finish the GTA merits i may swing back down collect my last warehouse/virus merits and then do jackets assuming the new crimes either don't come out any time soon or if it does come out and the crimes are the same from a merit point of view meaning i can still get the same merits doing the same crime and assuming jailing does not change based on my nerve strength then my path stays the same....now if there is some good money making changes for people who have waited patiently with 60 i would like to think there would be some good cash crimes to make it worth the wait and i could see myself going in a new direction assuming the payoff is good enough.

as it is now you do kinda get punished if you dont stay on the tried and true path...well you lose NN and it can be lost pretty quickly but it takes weeks or maybe months to recover from it and that is your reward for stepping outside of the standard path for a little excitement.

it is amazing to me how robin hood has been able to be on top of the ladder atleast since i started i donno how long hes been up there but i know how long i have been here and only recall him being #2 once and it was for a very short time he truly has patients to spam that same crime all these years...thats a legend in my book.
