I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that the current generation of traders are some of the dumbest people to ever grace this game. Let me explain why...

Its common knowledge that traders will inflate the value of certain items by buying up as many of a certain item as they can, and then re-list the item for sale at a much higher price. For certain consumable items like edvd's, DP's, etc, this is a really smart play, as the demand will never really drop and people will have little choice but to pay the inflated rates.

But take a look at Medical Supply Boxes in the item market...currently at 1.045m, and have been holding steady at 1m or over for the last month....

When you open a med supply box, you may get one of 3 possible outcomes:

1) 50 small first aid kits - value 1.12m
2) 30 first aid kids - value 1.1m
3) 20 morphine - value 1.03m

Now I'm no genius, but there seems to be almost 0 risk when opening med supply boxes currently...and the only time you'll lose money is if the box contains morphine. Which is stupid as f**k considering that should be the most desirable outcome...

The way I see it, shouldn't we work to stabilize the market on meds? A year ago, graphs show med supplies hovering around 800k, with morphine at 51k, fak at 20k, and sfak at 10k (estimated)...so the only way you'd profit by opening med supplies would be to find morphine inside.

Torn's economy is in the hands of a bunch of f**ktards now...

Bring back Trader.

Only 1 out of 500 traders actually have a grasp on the market imo. Most people giving market advice are just parroting other interpretations, and parroting very badly...

Don't believe market advice unless they actually have strong numbers to back it up

2+2 is not equal to 5 its equal to 22

Well personally I Have grave troubles selling any supply pack other than cans,DP and drug packs so all grenades and Meds i get i just open and sell the meds or donate to my faction like a good boi

There really is no problem to be had here, its all dependent on the price you buy them at, i mean i could buy them at 980k like always and still always turn a freaking profit.

Other than that Not all Supply Packs are meant to be like drug packs, That being said, Knawldge is PoVer

Why are you blabbering in forum about and not buying them up until you rake in all the profit?

The torn market is weird. Look at points, going up and down like a rollercoaster. I haven't found a final answer to why it's down down down and I'm on the market every day.

Torn has a pharmacy shop (open by finishing education) were you can buy morphine for 50k, first aid kids 35k and small first aid kits for 20k, the limit is the same as at other shops 100 per day, all of them have similar 1-2k profit margin per item, that is why prices are what they are.

You have just put 4 variables in your equation (price of med box, sfak, fak and morphine) and took the prices of all those at one specific point in time and base your whole theory on that.
The prices of all those 4 variables change by the hour. If you would make the same calculation at a different point in time, you can have totally different conclusions.

The situation you saw means that it's profitable to buy the med boxes and sell the contents. At other moments, the price of the med box might be too high for profit. It's all about market fluctuation and the good trader knows when to buy something and when to sell something.

Especially with drug packs, it's almost never a good decision to buy and open them. But people aren't rational and like the gamble. They prefer buying a drugpack for 4.5M with a 50% chance of getting 10 xanax over just buying 5 xanax for 4.2M.
Diabolique [2177124]
If you inspect the item in the market, you can pull up the graph for the prices...this shows the pricing trend over the course of 1 month, 3 months, etc. The prices for meds and med supplies have had very little change for at least a month.
Diabolique [2177124]
The reason the market is weird is because the buyer controls the market. If the price gets too low on points, buy them up and resell for more.

Traders used to know all this, I'm told. But what we have these days are a bunch of traders (yourself included) who are too busy trying to make a fast dollar instead of actually attacking the market with a strategy.

Dismiss me if you like, but you're only proving my original point...Traders are dumb now.
