Didn't really know what to call this... But I recently had a level 4 player "borrow" 3 million from me, so I thought sure I'll help out. Its been 4 days and I got nothing back. I tried mugging him but only got a couple hundred out of that (I forgot to mention he is now inactive). So that brings me to a question, would people create a second account, level it up to a small level, borrow money, send it to their actual account and then ditch the old one?

It's a lot of work for a scam but in theory it keeps their actual account's name off the scammers books and they get the money.

Okay... its finally over, after being in hospital for over 5 whole days, I got a chat:
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________

**************: Look please just stop hospitalising me your making it so I don't even want to play this game

Hamolicious: alright, will do... there are a LOT of players who now believe youre a multi... so I need to know if you are one (was a bluff, only 2 people know this guys name)

**************: I don't even know what a multi is lol

**************: If its something to do with robbing money then no I'm not I just used your money in hope I could turn it into more at the casino

Hamolicious: a multi is when you have 2 accounts to for personal gains... I saw your networth rise to 117m and then drop to 35m... people believe youre using this account to ask people for money and send it your your real account

**************: I'm not I asked loads of people for money yes and yes it was for my personal gain to try and earn money in the casino but it all back fired I can only apologise I'm sorry but this is my only account

Then we had a nice little chat, I ,again, didn't care about the money so I didn't ask for that but it all worked out and this is finally over, got tired of alarms going off every now and then saying (hospital time!)

Goodbye all and have a fun time playing!

But then why would you go inactive? Surely you want the money... You won't get banned as long as you use a different device for the second account.

Yes you will be banned. IP blocks are not considered anymore when finding a multi account. Multihunter as well as staff takes into consideration the transactions between account and some other factors which might be benefiting the main account.

Well that's something I didn't know... Surely if you know what you're doing that will be beneficial to you then right? I mean as long as the user makes it look like it was a coincidence that the two accounts found each other itll be hard to realise that its a multi accounter?
AzureDawn [2111374]
Only 3mil I think even it's really multi I don't think he will risk to go federal jail for only 3mil. Unless he "borrow" a lot of money from others too. I think a way to see it is you check networth of the guy who borrowed your money.

A level 4 with a net worth of $27,311,513?

flat line for a couple of days with 0

April 14 networth 0
April 15 networth 117,342,368
April 17 networth 35,714,749

Then a flat line from 17th to 28th
then a small drop (probably mugged) to 27,311,513.

eh I have a zero tolerance policy on loans, especially when it comes to new players. Hell I'm even skeptical to players that ive known for ages. Takes a lot of trust to be able to give someone money in a game.

When people get behind a computer screen they can turn into right douches who have no remorse. Same reason majority of gaming communities are toxic af.
Hamolicious [2232961]
I am not angry about the money (its only 3m), I am just trying to make everyone aware that there might be a new scammer meta that works pretty well, but I guess that makes that the last loan for me then!
Hamolicious [2232961]
nothing to thank me about, though I might be wrong here, its only been 2 days of inactivity from said player so I guess things can change but I doubt it lol.

but the networth just is so conviencing, like a level 4 getting 130m networth within a day, then losing 90% of it within the next and then going inactive does rise a tab bit of suspicion right?

I've no opinion about whether this was a scammer or not.

But there are a *lot* of people who join Torn, play for a fairly short time (a few days, a couple of weeks, etc) and then go inactive and never play again.  Torn is a long term game, not everyone plays long term.

And that's a risk if you're loaning money to newer players.  Whether they are trying to screw you, or simply go inactive, either way you are out the money.
Hamolicious [2232961]
Well I'll see for a couple of days and keep you guys posted maybe it was an unusual scam or something else.

For now, have an awesome time!

Scammer multis have always been a thing in this game.

But so has the casino ... Many players who dont cheat just spam away everything they have on blackjack, the bookie, russian roulette etc and then quit when they have nothing left.
