So in Canada when jobs are reserved for people of colour or females or LGTB..., they are the privileged ones right?

privilege - by definition - is granted [by peers and society]
advantage - by definition - isn’t granted; it is inherent, discovered, created

the video is weighing relative advantages under the guise of privileges, which distracts from and cheapens the reality of what privilege actually is.
the author is misleading (dare i say dishonest) for conflating/confusing these two words and their deeper meanings.
it attempts to shrink the elephant in the room and tuck it in the corner… but it’s still in the room

if a minority (ethnic/gender/sexual/religious/etc) is not granted specific privileges because the majority believes said minority doesn't deserve those privileges - whether fair or unfair, openly or secretly - while being granted such privileges themselves, then we must work to understand why that is and address it.

on the same token, if certain privileges are granted to a minority or majority, but not to others [for arbitrary reasons], we must again ask why and address it.

in my locale, as a well-spoken white American male with a local accent I don’t worry about being...:

• profiled as suspicious/dangerous by strangers on the street
• perceived as a possible thief browsing retail merchandise on racks and shelves
• an immediate threat when I reach into my pocket for my phone

...because i've been arbitrarily granted privileges

turn the tables and put the same me into a time and space where the majority sees me as a smooth-talking white devil.
assuming i'm a threat to them - for their own reasons - fair or unfair;
i am not granted any privilege in this context, yet i will retain certain advantages unrelated to privilege (e.g. i can evade them with my superior dexterity if they decide to apprehend me).

I disagree,
advantage -a condition or circumstance that puts one in a favorable or superior position.
privilege - a special right, advantage, or immunity granted or available only to a particular person or group.

Privilege is by definition a type of advantage, and the privilege talked about in the video is privilege by birth, almost every birth condition can be looked as positive or negative , in some sense, for example you could argue surviving a war opened your eyes, many disabled athletes see their injury as a new beginning (went for extreme cases on to prove a point), therefore everything talked in the video is indeed a relative advantages but it doesn't mean it isn't a privilege

Relative advantages are consistent with the definition of Privilege and can be a part of it.
not every Relative advantage is a privilege but all of the privileges he pointed out can be seen as relative advantages and they are also the most discussed privileges.

sir, you need to read my original post. my initial point stands;

privilege is granted
e.g. i am white by birth. some grant me privilege because i'm white.
it is otherwise totally irrelevant except when i'm standing in the scorching sun

advantage granted (privilege)
vs
advantage/disadvantage born with (not a privilege)

privilege = advantage
advantage =/= privilege

if these concepts are lost on you, then i'm afraid i cannot be of any further help.

Yea the video basically ends with privilege being a giant circle jerk because we can't see what privileges people have. All people are born into different environments and have different privileges.
