genuine confusion- why are schools reported on more?

I would expect more news of people shooting up places that aren't schools, after all- there are only a few schools compared to the rest of the buildings on Earth.

Because the news agencies want people to watch their stations and events such as school shootings get big attention because it's a massive fear for every parent around the world.

News report on what will get watched. Not what is actually news.

what's the risk of death from a school shooting compared to other dangers?
I remember the top causes were car accidents and drowning

The british teachers are already armed with grenades :)
Brit teacher with grenade

I am not sure if grenade is the best weapon for defending your class against the maniac with firearms. They should rather install sentry guns to the hallways
