Torn plateau

So I'm at a point in the game where all I'm seeing is a numbers grind. How much of this item can I buy and sell for how much profit? I didn't like numbers in school and I'm not good at it. I love bounty hunting and war but it doesn't pay for the supplies I need to stay competitive.
I'm sure other players have been here; so what motivated you to continue? Revenge on some higher level who stomped on you? The need to compete against better players?

It's just as addictive but....

the reason i dont like to stop is because i fear falling behind.

if i go part time ill fall behind. even if i take a day off im now a day behind. my energy is RARELY full during awake hours. the same goes for my nerve bar.

I feel your pain. I have played for years; quit, started over. and quit again. If you don't take the game seriously nor personally, it can be fun.  Some people are entertaining.  Some are arseholes, some are just quiet and keep to themselves.  Set your own goals.  Do what makes you happy regarding the game.  Measure yourself against yourself and you may enjoy it more.  Make friends, giggle at the enemies, and just realize it's a game *smiles*.

Torn tastes better on the whole though.

Torn is a game. And a diverse one at that. There is no singular way to play. So if you are finding it stale, find something within Torn to start enjoying.

I'm sure many players have experienced their own plateau's and those who are still here, must have found a way to overcome theirs.

Myself and 2 other close Torn friends set up a training competition seeing as the 3 of us were similar in age and stats. That turned out to be very fun.

Torn is a marathon not a sprint. There are literally so many ways to play it that hopefully you can find one you enjoy.

If you want to be a top player in terms of stats, crimes or wealth then yes, it is going to need a lot of effort and some sort of ability to generate money be that gambling (risky), stocks (difficult for some), trading or donating RL cash (expensive).

But you can still enjoy it a lot without aiming for the top. The social aspects of the game are great too, join a faction to make new friends and enjoy the warring side of the game, join a company too.

Become a merit chaser to give you regular goals to achieve. Or invent a character for yourself and roleplay spam troll the forums as a few people do. It's very diverse and can be rewarding in different ways to different people. 

What keeps me going is a mix. Originally it was because I joined with friends.  For years it was the comfort of the grind. Then it became social again when I joined a faction and started to play properly. 

I'd hate to be *that guy* but having a decent crowd to talk to (faction mates) keeps me interested in Torn. Plus you know... forums are hilarious at some points too.

To get to level 100 and then pull off a YoungBlaze :p

There are 100s of things to do in torn. Just find what you enjoy

This is a long term game. Do you want to be a man? Or one of the many field mice?
The field mice give up. A man works hard to get better.
